At my school, they are having a Fortnite tournament and it's going to be sponsored by Dell. I was thinking about playing to win the Turnny, but how do I train in the game? or get good? I've only played like once before and kinda don't know what I'm doing.
If anyone can hit me up for mentoring or just advice that would be nice

Best advice I guess is just going to youtube and look up tutorials tbh, or asking anyone at ur school if they know how to play the game.

if you're looking to improve basic stuff quickly there are custom maps to help learn and improve your builds/edits, raysfire actually put together a pretty good edit practice map if you wanna check it out

outside of that learning a few drops really well and knowing the possible chest spawns in said spot and practicing rotations from those set drops helps a ton with making it consistently into late game. Probably goes without saying but landmarks without names are ideal since the named drops are all usually pretty popular
the fortnite demo system is actually really comprehensive so you can also use that to go back into comp games and try and demo review certain fights you're taking based on loadout and playstyle

theres a really high chance everyone at your school has played a ton but all on controller, so ur best bet for really fast improvement is to grind out ur mechanics with playground 1v1s or hotdrops. you also def wanna change your keybinds to something more optimized, use the pro player chap's settings or something, anything but the default. Choose a specific landing spot to get really fucking good at then pretty much only land there off start

I'm not sure a highschool would have a dell sponsored fortnite event. I assume its probably some college and in that case you are probably fucked.

can you still use a controller for pin point accuracy aim assist?
like spamming ADS to immediately lock into someone
