what if all medic primary's did a bit of healing like the crusaders crossbow. Just coming from the perspective that currently medics pretty much unanimously run the crossbow and that the crossbow doesn't necessarily need a nerf. I get that this might be overpowered as I haven't really thought it through but how might this play out in terms of do you think medics would start running a different primary?
im pretty sure twiku fucked around with needle heals before, so technically might be doable, the big question is the Heal value assigned per needle cause those things fire hella fast, and in case of that one needle gun, making you even faster too. The last thing we want is even faster medics
crossbow would still be better because u can't really fire needles across the map to a flank player
Crossbow would still be better than needles on most maps if the crossbow didn't heal so this really wouldnt help anything.
consistently applicable fire and forget burst damage > extremely slow moving inconsistent sustained damage

Needles were always about being a defensive option because you weren't always a sitting duck at close and mid range, and there was utility with Overdose giving you some extra speed. Once crossbow buff and tether speed came needles became irrelevant.
give medic all your lovin', all your hugs and kisses too
Give the medic a primary that lets them utilize (at will by pulling out the primary- not passive) friendly projectiles for explosive jumps/escapes. This would be skill based for both the medic and the soldier/demo and would require the friendly soldier/demo to sacrifice potential damage to the enemy to help get their medic out. Not only that but it would be incredibly fun and satisfying for everyone involved.
Not sure about letting it damage enemies... one the one hand it would annoying similar to how pyro reflects are annoying. However, it's also like.. you're not negating enemy damage and reflecting it back you're just alley ooping your teammate's rocket.
