#52 cfg.tf in Customization
chiefdogHey, maybe someone already mentioned this but the medicheck script isn't working because the command that is supposed to execute the script in class script documents are misspelt "medcheck" instead of "medicheck" so it is supposed to be "exec medicheck; orig_scout" instead of "exec medcheck; orig_scout"

Nope, I totally missed this. Thanks for the report, this should be fixed now (it may take up to 5 minutes to appear on the site, also, you might want to re-load the page with cache disabled).

There are actually a lot of bugs I should fix but I don't really have much time theese days.

Perhaps you could try to replace spire prop with displacement spire. Or turn the spire into non-solid prop and create a collision brush out of blockbullets.

#2 Need help installing logs.tf in Q/A Help

The process is fool proof.

- Install / validate your server
- Download the latest Metamod / Sourcemod
- Copy / paste plugin in your plugins folder
- Copy / paste Curl or SteamTools (try the second one if you think that Curl is the problem)
- Enter API key

If something is going wrong, take a look at the server console, it will tell you the exact reason. You can try to type "meta" in server console, and if it says "unknown command", you don't have a working Metamod. Same for "sm plugins". You can solve 90% of the problems by looking at the server console on server start.

#1 Looking for a TF2 pre-beta branch version. in TF2 General Discussion

As most of you guys know, TF2's "core" code was recently modified. Some time ago it was optional, but now the game basically has migrated to another branch. And I'm looking for TF2 files from the time before that update happened. I would accept any form of game files, basically, any version from 2016 would work. Thanks in advance.

I used separate instances of Source games before and I know that it is possible, I just need the game files.

I would also suggest cloudflare, it also serves free cdn and and a lot of other cool stuff. also, the setup literally just takes several minutes.

#50 cfg.tf in Customization

New cool stuff has arrived:
Follow the latest updates on our brand new blog: http://blog.cfg.tf/ (RSS available)

Thanks to xiyzzc for contributing:

Client config generator 2.5.0

  • More map previews, with australium weapons and WIP item previews
  • Crosshair colors reflect the script/game colors, fixed a bug where mint color did not change anything
  • Detailed nohatsmod demonstration
  • Sound previews are compressed (ogg opus, supported by everything modern except safari/default mobile browsers https://caniuse.com/#feat=opus)
  • Sound previews have an autoplay toggle
  • Nosmoke script previres - select between all the possible variants and see how it looks instantly.

Server generator update 1.0.0b:

  • Add Metamod and Sourcemod to your server just in a few clicks
  • Adjust admins easily, no need to dig into files by yourself anymore
  • Get packed with most of the popular gamemode pugins: SOAP DM, Advanced Stats, Logs.tf, MGEMod, JumpAssist and more!
  • Generate a mapcycle.txt, you no longer need to fill it up by yourself!
  • Added fastdl URL field

Meet the tools:

Dont judge me

  • Bind rotation generator. Just copy and paste some text there and you can harass your enemies in an automatic way (don't overuse please)
  • ASCI art generator (I remember some guy asked for something like this a while ago). Just copy/paste ASCI art there and get a fully working console script. Pimp your console! Also works for other Source games.

More stuff:

  • Added an extremely educating article on Linux Server Management by BurningSmile

#49 cfg.tf in Customization
feIikMy config seems pretty watered down on this site, it's also out of date (2.3.3, current as of this post is 2.5.1).
Would be great if the config were to include all the customization available from the original versions.

I'm not sure if we can make customization options available. The site serves them as a single file and each file/config has a very large set of previews (see the update below). Adding customization options means redoing them over again and adding a very huge amount of images to represent in-game changes for each combination. We had to separate them into several packages. I will update your config very soon, I was really busy with other stuff happening. It would be very cool if you could make 3 sets of settings into a 3 corresponding files, just as shown at cfg.tf though. Anyway, expect an update on the site soon. And thanks for your hard work too )

#19 fixing badlands in Map Discussion

I can make a fixed version if you guys could come up with an exact list of changes you want. There are always going to be unsatisfied players though. List all your complaints here and I'll try to fix stuff. It's not really hard at all - the hardest thing is agree on changes. Maybe we need a kind of a survey for that?

edit: someone already took care of this later in the thread

#3 help me with my fps problem in TF2 General Discussion

try another config. this may not help, but I recommend doing it anyway since Chris' is heavily outdated .
also, yes, check your drivers. you may also try a system rollback if you are on Windows and it was fine several days ago

#64 irrational fears in Off Topic

I'm afraid of ants. I'm nearly 25 and I still feel like they can climb my legs and find their way through my skin and holes in my body to get inside me. Especially when there are a lot of ants. These fuckers are millions years old and have colonised almost every landmass on Earth, isn't that threatening? Giant ants also exist and if you think that they are more dangerous, try smashing a pile of tiny motherfuckers in a single hit. They are indestructible and extremely cunning - as soon as you try to punch then they will invade and sting your body with thousands of tiny claws they have on their head. Scientists have also reported several times people had their anus destroyed by ants.

#2 Lawena Java Problems in Q/A Help

This should not be happening unless you are super low on RAM. Update your Java version, take a look at the amount of RAM available, close all the unnecessary processes. This happens when garbage collector works more than 98% of the time trying to free some memory. You can solve this problem temporary if you launch the app with the following parameter (extremely not recommended):

-XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit

I'm not sure how to do that on Windows, you might want to google that

#6 Key combos in Q/A Help

there is a possibility to implement this within tf2
I'm not sure if this will work, I'm not on my PC, but here is a general idea and possibly working script

alias +aback "bind d +back"
alias +dback "bind a +back"
alias -aback "bind d "+moveright; +dback"
alias -dback "bind a +moveleft; +aback"

bind a "+moveleft; +aback"
bind d "+moveright; +dback"

thats not really reliable and will not work well with null movement script, also idk how are you going to get used to this

#45 cfg.tf in Customization

Your daily doze of updates:

2.3.0:

  • Crosshair switcher now has crosshair previews.
  • Added a missing option for default crosshairs.
  • Option to force graphic features that configs usually let you enable by uncommenting (gibs, facial features, etc)
  • More HUDs, very easy and fine looking previews provided by huds.tf (hopefully, this will not cause any problems).
  • Improved visuals and performance.
  • Fixed several typos, improved some text.
  • The main page is now slightly more fancy.
  • Saving feature is disabled now, it was too buggy, might be back in another form later.
  • Updated no hats mod to the lastest version

If anyone knows how can I contact omni, please hit me up, we have something to discuss about huds.tf and hit.tf. He does not respond or ignores my friend request on purpose.

EDIT: If you want to see HUD previews, you might want to allow this page to display unsafe content (Chrome may block it for the first time, - don't worry, it's just huds.tf working via http instead of https.
