mixtape-unfunny binds

I've never really liked the seperate medigun panel. It contains so much redundant information and I don't feel like it's necessary, but maybe that's just me.
Also is it possible to get your hands on the live damage panel that's been used in some ETF2L matches? I think it's amazing to have for midfights.
-Will probably mostly stream jumping, with some pugs/lobbies on the side.
-Perpetual backup, only started for a couple friend's teams in CEVO/UGC.
-play all classes, pug around with moderate frequency
BLoodSireI think Smaka's point is that expanding the meta is great, just not during matches. Unless of course maybe we want to use CEVO as a sandbox for unlocks . . . but that is something else.
How do you expand the meta then? Where else are you going to find a variety of players from multiple skill levels choosing to play with an unlock for an extended period of time? It's the same problem as testing new maps. Nobody will play them seriously unless they're mandatory.
I don't see what's wrong with allowing new maps/unlocks into rotation without 'sufficient testing,' because they will never ever get 'sufficient testing' otherwise. We just played with Coalplant, most of us didn't like it. So we voted it out. But did it absolutely ruin anyone's season? Were they unable to enjoy tf2 because of that map? I don't think so, and if there is someone who was affected like that I think they have bigger issues with the game than Coalplant.
Was the quick-fix debacle really that bad though? I mean it obviously more or less ruined LAN, but besides that it was the most interesting thing to happen to TF2 in a long time. I thought it was really exciting to watch the meta develop right in front of me, and I was happy to see it banned too. There's always going to be good and bad when weapons get changed or added, and I feel like everyone's so afraid of the bad that we never get to see the good.
I can absolutely see it happening just as you described. Maybe by the end of the season there won't be any more gunboats roamers. But watching that transition and evolution (or even devolution) is exciting and has intrinsic value I think.
smakersIn my opinion, these results make it pretty clear that polling the whole community for bans is a mistake. You vote to ban the battallion's backup which offers protection against crits and damage resistance, but you leave in a weapon that grants 100% minicrits for your team as well as the concheror, which gives passive health regen, insane speed, -and- essentially gives each player on your team his/her own medic (35% damage->health).
I hope I'm wrong, but I think you're going to see the soldier game quickly begin to revolve around concheror. It's simply too strong to not run after middle.
Sorry but this is the third time I've asked because I haven't gotten an answer yet. Has anyone been running the conch regularly outside of Gullywash? I have a difficult time seeing roamers abandon the jump-heavy, distraction oriented playstyle in favor of a completely passive one where they just charge conch and wait for uber.
Regardless, this meta you're predicting doesn't exist yet. Banning a weapon on hypothetical grounds isn't a good practice to have. You've got your prediction, now let's give it a chance and see what players do with it. If it turns out you're right then we ban it next season. There should be a certain level of experimentation with the newly changed weapons before we just throw them away.
8 people voted to allow the wrangler.
i want names
taggWe want to ban the weapon with a good risk-reward system that relies on skill - The Widowmaker
We want to allow the item that just changes stats and works regardless of skill - The Conch
2 Health Regen per second, Area of effect speed boost and Health regen from damage dealt is not something that belongs in 6v6 in my opinion. Lets also not forget how silly the Black Box, Conch combo is.
Has the conch seen any significant use outside of attacking gullywash last?
Was the powerjack banned in esea cuz of a mid season change?
Also I'm really hoping heavy doesn't get banned.
KillingI really couldn't disagree more. What makes CEVO's platform better? They picked up likeable community figures and made a league. I'm not sure if I heard correctly but a large piece of the prize pot came from nahanni's pocket. They aren't risking much on TF2, I'm willing to risk it all. I want you to tell me right now what you want me to do to improve ESEA TF2. I'm more than willing to have a discussion.
I didn't say it was necessarily better. You sound blind sided by this paradigm shift even though it's been evolving for months. Like you (and a lot of the other ESEA supporters) didn't really believe that it might actually happen. Where were all of you when this conversation started? CEVO struck while the iron was hot and reaped the benefits. Now ESEA comes along months later and is surprised by it? That's what I don't understand, and that's the kind of aloofness that I think so many players chafe under.
Yea CEVOs s4 prize pot was funded largely by a couple members of the community. But that's part of the attraction isn't it? It feels good to be supporting ourselves. It reinforces the idea of a league for the players. I'm not saying CEVO will necessarily be better, but surely you can understand why people will think so.
I understand that TF2 is an insignificant part of ESEA, and that allowing us to play with them was generous. I don't blame ESEA for treating TF2 the way it does. As the TF2 community grew it was more or less inevitable that they'd want to break away.
I'm not talking about which league is better. I think that obviously the best solution is to play both for the time being. I'm just explaining why I think this is happening.
KillingLKincheloeI don't think anybody is saying YOU don't care Killing. It's more that your superiors don't seem to show the same appreciation for TF2 that you show.
Tell me why you think they don't care. You think ESEA is all about money right? I haven't lost a dime on ESEA for the entire 4 years. Them on the other hand haven't made a dime.
How can you think they are only about money when they don't make any?
ESEA tolerates the TF2 league, but they don't promote it or try to improve it. CEVO's platform is that of a league for the players; you should be able to see why that's attractive after playing under ESEA's indifference. TF2 has always been second to CS. Permitted to stay but otherwise left alone. I appreciate that ESEA has given us a place to play, but the community has grown and now we want more. At least that's how I've always seen it.
SheWolf1. You only get 500 steps in the Safari Zone before getting booted out.
oh my god
TurinAim and movement should be rewarded 66% of the time due to this being an FPS, not a strategy game. It's inherent in an FPS and should be the main focus of the meta, then followed by strategy.
I think you must be playing some other game. Aim and movement are the least important parts of TF2. There's more Counter Strike in TF2 than there is Quake.
