#2 Favorite Frag Movies in Videos

It feels like I've seen this type of thread before. But I do appreciate frag movies, so why not.

One of my favorite "non-overedited" movies

#42 I sent this to valve in TF2 General Discussion

The way community updates work is that they go public, people contribute to them, or not and only afterwards Valve decides to add them or not to add them. So Frontline and the Mayann Project are both waiting for Valve to say "this is going in, deadline is Xth Y". Also according to some rumours, a community update can net several hundred thousands of dollars in revenue. This of course depends on what you sell and how well it sells (for example back when they started adding more taunts, they were a huge seller, as opposed to some cosmetics, especially if they're locked behind a crate).

But if a community competitive update managed to get in, and the creators pledged to use the revenue towards hosting comp events, we could be set for a couple of years really. However, it would be difficult, as more and more community updates are showing up recently, understandably so, as they make a lot of money. You really need to stand out, but at the same time remain restricted enough not to rely on gameplay-affecting content too much, Valve is quite careful about adding those. And of course, it needs to sell something.

#44 Biannual iseries idea feat. NA in TF2 General Discussion
JoshdumanAlthough I'm pretty new here, I saw this post and it got me thinking. I have a fair deal of experience with fundraising type events (around 20 hosted), and I find that actual involvement tends to bring better results than just selling something (I.e. hosting a golf outing vs selling candy bars). Suppose there was some kind of online event held, where people could pay like 20 (or more) dollars to play sixes comp game with one (maybe two?) pro player and other people who paid. I mean, one game would raise about 200 dollars, and price is still pretty low. I just have a feeling that a good number of people would love a chance to interact with the actual players.

I don't really know what processes are currently used, though, so this could be a silly suggestion for all I know.

Expanding on this, what if you could pay x amount of money to play in a 6s cup where the medic in each team is a pro player and the rest are people who paid money and the pro players would coach or something like that. It could be streamed too, though I'm not sure about the entertainment value, since the players could be quite low skilled, but maybe people would watch just for the lolz?

#33 Overwatch World Cup teams announced in Other Games

Why the fuck would they base it on a vote anyway, of course it's gonna end up being youtubers and whatnot.

#31 Uncle Dane Plugs i58 - among other things in TF2 General Discussion
BumFreezeso you have a core 4 classes then the offclasses just play rock paper scissors against each other? nice

A slightly more complex version of rock paper scissors, but otherwise yeah pretty much, why is that bad?

Aren't some classes better situationally though? And wouldn't for example a sniper shut down a heavy all the time, so a spy instead would work to counter the sniper, etc.?

I haven't played prolander, why is it not good exactly? Sounds really good in theory, more switching classes to adapt to the situation, more variety of plays, more interesting game, or?

#44 Game Theory Tf2 vs OW Deadlock in Videos
diamond0wnerGame theory is the edgeiest phrase I have ever heard in my life. However the actual game theory is actually a cool branch of mathematics that holds extremely useful applications in economics and is super cool and interesting if you into that.

So it's not just me who's salty about how they call it Game Theory even though it's really not?

#56 What do you all want out of the Pyro update? in TF2 General Discussion

At least make an attempt at fixing pyro instead of just giving him a bunch of likely broken weapons... please.

#8 Helping Pubbers to Improve (And Join Competitive) in TF2 General Discussion
Geknaiirswyif we had a one stop shop resource for any players who either want to learn how to play when they're new or want to up their game and get better, I think it would be extremely popular think of how many arguments people would go through in order to defend their way of getting mechanically/mentally better

u go to any thread saying should i do dm or mge or some shit and theres always fucks trying to defend x method of playing the game to get good quick

same thing with playstyle, there are so many unique ways of thinking about the game from passive to aggressive and roles and shit that its impossible to come up with the right answer

theres no guaranteed way to get good at this game other than to keep playing it and experimenting when something doesnt work

How about mentioning 1-3 most popular methods and explain it something like "some people think mge is the best way, others say dm because yaddayadda, try all of them and use whichever you like"?

Also I think sparseness is very important when trying to reach as many new people as possible. People have short attention spans and some people wouldn't watch a 45 minute video/huge wall of text titled "A Complete Guide to TF2 Part 1/14".

EDIT: About the configs, how about some sort of a basic config that doesn't affect graphics at all, just sets all the stuff like fov, autoreload, fast switch, etc. to values that should be default anyway? Wouldn't discourage people by making the game ugly.

"class pack" sure doesn't sound like a rework, more like a bunch of weapons and hats :(

Tbh almost any song can work in a fragmovie, just pick a song that you like, no reason to use edm just because everyone else is doing it.

#71 Heavy & Pyro: How could they be changed? in TF2 General Discussion

Just to clarify, would you people hate airblast if it didn't affect players, only reflected projectiles? Legit question, not sure.
