I had them working about a month ago on my stream. You need to make sure you have the right version of the map, and im not sure there is a way to tell off hand which map is needed for the demo. But since they were all mostly custom, you need to have them

Damnit, Paul, I told you I only bench-ride for Championship teams... You've made this very awkward.
Congrats to the Euros. They showed that when they step their game up and prepare they are just as dominating as any NA team. We have to tip our hats to them, boys and girls, lets hope we get them next time.
just wanted to say I'm 99% sure STAR is this guy: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/radio/news/story?page=BIO_RobinLundberg
judge for yourself:
lundberg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FJImHM4ZaY
STAR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkX_tbzsk4s
Lunderg: NYsports radiohost for ESPN
STAR: Has NY TF2 server (no one has a NY tf2 server)
Lundberg: has a voice
STAR: has that same voice
NEED I SAY MORE?!
kirbyDamn, that sucks. Your TFC were neato. Sniping in TFC was something else. I always wondered, if you could have sniping work in TF2 like it did in TFC (hold m1, release to shoot), would you?
When you start streaming again, you should see if there are any servers that aren't full of bots and play a few rounds.
As Brandname mentioned, there is a script to mimic the tfc sniper somewhat, but it feels really clunky and awkward.
IMO there should be an unlock for the sniper (The Classic) that underperformed in damage, but functioned in a similiar way to the TFC "click to charge" mechanic. (side note: the huntsman sort of already does, as unsatisfying as that is)
codyif branjon was still playing would he be on your list bsire?
its been so long but i remember him being pretty damn amazing so im always gonna say him
Yes he would. That is assuming he didn't cheat. He had 2 accounts and one of them was VAC'd, it was after he quit comp, but once it happened he all but disappeared. He was one of the only snipers in TF2 I watched and thought something was fishy, but that was a really long time ago so who is to say?
He was a beast, that cannot be denied, and he would certainly be on my list if he was still active and doing now what he did then.
It's likely my small sample size of HL at various level's was not a good indicator, but the few things I always took away from it was
1) remember to look for other snipers spawn time and shoot him first if he's good
2) no one dodges correctly
3) spies are devilspawn
this could just be my lopsided experience of playing against mostly invite 6's players versus a general pool of HL players from plat to unknown. I didn't mean to make sweeping generalizations, which I did, so that wasn't cool on my part
but I would stand by the blanket statement that sniping in 6v6 is harder than in highlander, by just the nature of the two... it's not an indictment on highlander, highlander sniping is a "freer" venue, and that makes things significantly easier, regardless of competition
kirbyblood, do you still have your tfc videos uploaded?
I don't, Kirby. There was one Jh made and he had it on his youtube but he took it down much to my sadness :[
I still have some tfc demos, and I plan to start up streaming again since I'm back from vaca, so I might load up tfc and take a look at them soon. 2 of the demos I have were from when they called me a cheater and I had to submit them, so those could be fun
renxzenBLoodSireSheep, Jukebox, Justin White
Are they on AutoAim?
If not c'mon bloodsire, hit that invite button
all but Justin who denied the request
Sheep is actually one of the oldest AA members who still plays I can think of.
Sylvesterit's cool that you can snipe in 6s but hl snipers are pretty cool too because there's this thing called countersniping
max, hugh laurie, some others.
In my experience, and not to bring on the HL hate, but HL players (unless also 6v6 players) really have no concept of how to dodge to avoid a sniper or are just to involved in other things to take the time to do it, whereas in 6v6 almost all players go into "can't headshot me" mode when they try to attack a sniper. This makes 6's sniping much harder, compounded by the fact that there are less players to shoot at (easy targets like pyros, heavies, and engies) and more of a focus on you when you snipe (since whenever a sniper appears in a 6v6 game the other team usually makes it their modus operandi to kill him).
Sniper v sniper can be challenging, but it's more of a nuisance, and in my experience it makes sniping in highlander it's own little mini-game. It's fun and I love it, but I would never pride myself or admire another sniper for their ability to counter-snipe, specifically when in TF2 it is so one dimensional.
It is true that there is a skill and talent to counter-sniping that you don't often see in 6v6 (anymore that is: back in the day gravelpit was all sniper v sniper, and maps like freight/yukon/follower saw a lot of sniper v sniper action), I just don't think that skill is anything particular spectacular. No one is putting the counter-snipe kill in their frag-vid, HL or not.

interp, or it didn't happen
I only got to see the stream from 11am-12pm today, but what I saw impressed me. The HUD looked good, the Sal+Arx cast was entertaining and professional sounding, the actual stream quality (with the glow-plugin) was awesome, the flashed damaged stats was really really informative, and the dual screen-cap was like a casters wet dreams to me.
I'm sure many of these complaints are well-founded, but knowing what it's like to cast, I was really impressed with how smooth the portion I saw went, and how stream-lined it appeared.
If I was a first-time tf2 watcher I would have been very impressed with how tight the content being offered was disseminated.
It's really hard to say who the best sniper is, though it's clearly not even close to being me (but I appreciate the support, guys).
The thing with sniping is the 6v6 style has moved so far away from it you only get to see it once in a blue moon, and usually only after that particular sniper gets a crucial pick and justifies to his team "well I'm too far away from spawn, better stay on it ." That player either soon after dies and that ends that, or he chains together some nice kills and becomes the greatest sniper ever (in our eyes).
In reality there are a ton of really awesome snipers at the top level of competition. The bare-bones of sniping is really just aiming and at the top level there are many players who are really good at that (take clockwork for instance). It usually just comes down to who is hot and who makes a big shot at a big moment; but I think trying to say who is the best is a really difficult thing. Especially in 6v6, as sniping is really so situational and dependent on teammates and the like. (it's different to a degree in highlander as sniper v sniper is more of a thing, but sniper v sniper is so dumb in tf2, again it's really a fruitless argument).
In the end all you can do is come up with a list of consistently impressive snipers. Here is my short list:
Sheep, Jukebox, Justin White
There are many impressive snipers, but I would say these 3 have impressed me on the most consistent basis.
I <3 scorpio and his maps.
Bought it. Watched it. Loved it.
