Awesome guide, I was wondering if you could screenshot or upload your tl math preset in after effects for converting the rgb ramp to a black and white gradient (I'm assuming that's what your depth formula does). I kinda got it to work but its kinda scuffed so I was hoping you could share (; Keep up the good work

SkemeBludbkoh hey youre the old youtube guy!
it may be time for a fresh install if u havent already tried it, it sucks but does tend to be the catch-all for this kind of stuff
thanks, but how can i make the install more fresh than this? i disabled cloud sync and deleted the local folder :\
dbk is possibly referring to a windows reinstall which i would recommend aswell
damn ok ty

TheMackey5I briefly read the title and I was suprised to not find something regarding the stock market in this thread
lmao took me a min to understand what you meant
When starting tf2 the screen flashes for a moment, changes resolution or smth, then goes black, plays the first notes of the loading screen tune, then stops responding.
I've tried:
updating nvidia drivers
disabling cloud sync + deleting local files + reinstalling
enabling -autoconfig in launch options
restarting pc
verifying game file integrity
leaving the game in the "not responding" state for 20 minutes
opting in/out of steam beta
updating windows
-default launch option
Any tips on what else I can try? Thanks!
edit: just after posting this the game managed to launch properly 1 time, but after restarting it it's back to not responding smh my head
actually nvm found this https://github.com/juniorsgithub/tf2-how-to-record-depth
I want to record the demo itself in parallel with the depth stream which you can display using reshade.
what is a depth stream?
https://i.gyazo.com/b1b114e7702f6b9b5d53a02887640cf4.png
I thought I could do this by progressing the demo 1 frame. then taking a screenshot of the demo, then enabling reshade and taking another screenshot, then repeat for every frame.
But the problem right now is that I don't know if it is possible to progress the demo one frame at time, would anyone happen to know if there is a way to do it?
The alternative approach would be to just record the demo two times independenty, but the problem then is that ragdolls in tf2 behave randomly in demo playbacks. the so depth footage wouldnt line up with the raw footage generally.
thanks!
mastercomsOnly thing related to this that I know is replay_cache_client_ragdolls 1 but it may cause crashes.

ShearsIf you want that level of control it might be worth importing your demos to SFM, antlers made a good tutorial on it: https://www.teamfortress.tv/55199/recording-tf2-demos-for-use-in-sfm-tutorial#1
thanks
I remember ragdolls falling differently each time you replay a demo and I assume it works the same way now. Is there a way to avoid this? (basically the first time you play the demo, a ragdoll might fall to the right, but the next time you play it it might fall to the left)
Context: I wanted to be able to record the same demo twice so I could spply a depth buffer the second time, but if the models are falling differently the second time when youre using the depth buffer, it is basically worthless.

I saw some threads mentioning this problem but I couldn't find a fix, does anyone have a clue?

It's from a very recent tf2center stv demo
Hello, how can I remove this target id thingy completely? https://i.gyazo.com/5b2c9fe9351c5afe555d453b720237b3.png
edit - it seems like it need to adjust these https://i.gyazo.com/200c784ef9ed2f7f73bb8d5823e53750.png I changed some xpos values as well as toggling enable / disable, but I couldn't get it to change anything in game after using hud_reloadscheme, what am I missing here? I tried doing the same for the killfeed in hudlayout.res and that worked.
ok i fixed it by changing ypos of targetid in hudlayout.res
