#173 rip sven in TF2 General Discussion

I agree with fog. Regardless if anyone realizes this or not, but if you hold a high position-- whether it is in politics or invite tf2 you are looked up to and held to a higher standard. Simply because you are under a microscope (as some may say) and looked up to by the lower teams/players.

However, there are a ton of politicians/leaders whom I would never agree with or want to follow or emulate. With that said, there will always be those people who will follow you no matter what. Irregardless if you are Ted Bundy or Gandhi.

For me personally, I used to look up to invite players and even afraid to talk to them b/c I was afraid I wasnt 'worthy' to be around them (LOL!). But yeah that's stupid, so now I just see them like everyone else. They f up, I f up. We are all equals, but they are held to a higher standard. All that matters in the end it is your own personal choices and how you see yourself. Everyone should think in that regard, imo. There will always be some person who looks up to you. Make your decisions/actions accordingly.

Just throwing this out there for you current/inspiring to become invite players.

Fog... [E]verything you do is watched under a microscope, and you WILL be scrutinized no matter what you say or do...

#46 Do you PUG? Why/Why Not? in TF2 General Discussion
In-house pugs - best way to meet new people and invite people who everyone would enjoy playing with. Typically I like the pugs to be try-hard pugs. In-house pugs to me are the closest to scrims. In the fact that most in-house pugs invite people who are close to the average person in the pug's skill-level.
TF2 mix - if I am desperate to play and no one else on my friends list wants to
TF2 center - if I just want to chill out with a friend or two and make sure we're on the same team. Mostly to goof off.
slinOne thing I've noticed is that pug culture is extremely important - if people tryhard, then everyone tryhards. If people goof off, everyone goofs off. Is tryharding important for pugs? Would tryhard pugging incentivize you to pug more often?

Yes to both. If everyone wants tryhard, then yeah tryhard. If everyone agrees to playing goofy. Then play goofy. Just needs to be something the puggers understand starting the game.

IMO I would prefer every one trying for the most part. But the goofy pugs are fun sometimes to let out some steam/just chill/have a few laughs.

#43 Thoughts on CEVO match scheduling in TF2 General Discussion

Typically, we play our matches 9cst/10est/7pst. I hope I got all the time zones correct. But that should be right...

But I idk why people are having to do so many ffw's. I make sure to add the captains and talk out times. I have yet to have a problem fitting in teams into a week while doing both CEVO and ESEA. Sure I've had problems with some captains. But that's life... I refuse to take a ffw before I exhaust all possible options to play. I wish other captains thought that way but what ev's.

Next up, SYOPS takes 2 ffl's.... rofl... fml.

Gvim has been my favorite lately. Code on one screen and compiler/specs on other. Haven't tried latex yet. Might give it a try.

#4 Thoughts on CEVO match scheduling in TF2 General Discussion

I agree.

I know once ESEA starts we're going to have to probably double book some matches on days.

However, it will make us to be on a tight schedule. Just would suck if someone had some emergency and couldn't get someone on the roster fast enough or notify a backup in time to play. So it might be safer overall to do an end of week sort of thing.
