ESA chat sucks right now
Foreskimor9k mode https://static-cdn.jtvnw.net/emoticons/v1/33/1.0
Obviously it's not really within our control, but it would be great if somebody who can get in touch could ask for much more lenient auto-moderation. It's also very harsh on excessive caps, and "spamming." really unfun chat environment :(
edit: just watch when extine says yao as the event starts.. :(
It's totally fine to play a season (or two at most) to let your DM, game sense, and knowledge of how to play in a team environment naturally improve so you have your feet underneath you when you make the leap into open. From knowing you personally, you don't NEED this, but hey you might prefer it. Up to you.
That being said, in low open you're basically guaranteed to have teammates whose primary motivation is to improve, and who at least believe they want to dedicate themselves to that a fair amount- they're basically all paying money to lose, improve, and do better next season, maybe having some fun along the way. This is, of course, as long as you're moderately careful when choosing who you play with.
The other benefit of playing in ESEA is not for you individually, but might matter to you. ESEA is very important to the current health of competitive TF2, and the more teams+players playing in TF2 Open, the more likely they are to continue supporting the game.
SO gamers how are scrims going? Funniest / best moments from the past week?
Queue as solo now!
nope4812622qf sv and sp are all goneso um
yay
what was the point of 'allowing' them in the first place???
to test them to see if they actually cause problems, and to generate feedback. Whether or not this is worthwhile is up for debate but you already knew the answer to this
MochaSukhaid appreciate any feedback
u have had plenty
sibbyowlcometspace team is pretty fun. its like dont stop talking and no one explodes except it was designed for ESL people to help their communication skills. local bluetooth/wifi required to play together
this is super fun

i think we all got baited
No, this was the stated intention from the meeting- specifically for the Quick Fix, Solemn Vow, and Soda Popper. The plan then was to test them in scrims and then each league would decide on their own whitelist based on that, with the hope they would agree on a universal global whitelist. I'm confident (hopefully rightly so?) that they'll choose to keep the quick fix banned after the results of these few days.
Note: of course, it's up for debate whether the whole community should be subjected to testing these weapons in scrims, and whether the whole idea of the whitelist expansion is worthwhile, but I digress.
Please stop saying "season 14" when arguing against the quick fix, it's not a strong argument because the weapon has been significantly nerfed.
We've scrimmed with it. In its current state. It's awful to play with and against NOW. Please say that instead, because I'm sure you're experiencing the same thing.
I love open
