Every time a new version of a map is released it takes ages to update, and I'm not blaming you guys.

Bagel and sunshine always gets banned in EU and reckoner gets banned because it's not the latest version. Would be cool if we could have a more dynamic pool of maps, and update more frequently. This could maybe be done by teaching some people how to do it (admins?) and they could. Also, on the topic of admins, EU could use a couple more. (trusted and active players)

I don't know how time-intensive the process is or if it puts server security on stake but it's something you should look into.

#20 Quckiebomb Launcher Discussion in TF2 General Discussion

Airborne stickied, fair enough, but being able to clear sticky traps has the potential to make the pace of the game faster. Essentially, what Eemes said.

cp_windfall
Current version: a3a
Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b6h6io7n52u4tbw/cp_windfall_a3a.zip?dl=0

Changelog: a2 to a3
- Made 2nd more open
- Added a window in lobby to make backcaps easier to spot
- Added a lot of textures & details
- Adjusted cap times and spawn times
- Lots of more stuff to discover

Personal comment:
I'm personally very happy with a large portion of the map. Very late in development of a3 I got lots of interesting ideas. As version a3 was pretty much already 98% finished I'll release this first, and then keep working on a4. Feedback is still more than welcome though. Also, just because there are textures doesn't mean I won't change the map!

Screenshots in OP!

EDIT: Fixed some minor bugs in a3a

I think the sidebar has a max amount of names on it, so sometimes when lots of other people stream at the same time you won't show up. Try now, when there are only 5 streams.

Let's hope they nerf rescue ranger harder, and that they nerf vaccination, quick fix and add some minor downside to the solemn vow

EemesA good way to nerf the ambassador at range would be to make the crit from a headshot not ignore damage fall-off and instead just be x3 damage, meaning it would do 51 (17x3) damage at max range but still 80-100 at short-mid range. This would fix valve's wish to make spy less of a sniper while not making long-range shots rely on any kind of random spread.

I came up with this and posted it on the previous page.. .

#118 TF2 Blog: "Balance Changes" in TF2 General Discussion
alec_get that damn rng out of my tf2 and just remove ambassador crit headshots at a certain range

I don't think this is a good solution simply because there are gonna be those moments where you are half a hammer-unit unit too far away from your target so you only do a mini-crit...

This is inspired by cs:go but I think it can work on the ambassador as well:
Added: Critical damage on this weapon is now also affected by damage dropoff

ValveSandman
- The feedback on this weapon has been fairly consistent for a while: Players really hate losing the ability to fight back. Compounding this, the ball has to travel really far in order to disarm players. Being hit by a long-range ball (more often than not) ends up feeling random, rather than skilled.
- Changes:
- Long-range ball impacts no longer remove the victim's ability to fire their weapon (but the victim is still slowed)
- We've updated achievements that were looking for disarmed players
- Max range balls now do 50% increased damage (from a base of 15)
- The flight time required to trigger the "max" effect has been reduced by 20%
- Ball regeneration time reduced to 10 seconds (from 15)

Wait guys... is it only the long-range ball impact that removes the stun effect? So medium range and short range stun effects are still a thing?

#36 The dumbest reason you were kicked from a server? in Off Topic

I got banned from an mge server for beating an admin. Then I spoke to head admin (who I already had added on my steam friends list) and got unbanned.

On a different occation I played ammomod mge versus some guy who couldn't stand loosing, so he felt the need to switch class to pyro (in the middle of a Solly 1v1). After playing a bit of something I didn't sign up for, I went heavy just to get him to leave (I wanted to play that particular arena), and then I got banned from the server. The person who went pyro was actually an admin. Shortly thereafter, bored as usual, I joined another MGE server hosted by the same community. An admin on this separate server asked me why I wasn't banned here too. (I don't know how he found out about my ban from their community's other server.) He then proceeded to ban me on the second server as well. I decided to contact the head admin regarding this issue. (the same head admin I already had on my friends list and who already removed an unwarranted ban from me) Head admin said that the moderator who banned me claimed I was disrupting the peace and occupying an arena as heavy and refusing to leave. This was clearly false information, so I explained what actually had happened. The head admin had another discussion with his moderator and then told me it was fair game because I did not listen to the requests of the administrator. I then asked the head admin to check the chat logs on the server, so that he himself could see that the moderator gave me no orders at all, and just banned me. And then I got unbanned lol.

EDIT: Corrected grammar and rephrased a few bad sentances.

#46 ESEA has outlived it's usefulness in TF2 General Discussion
DarkNecridThe only way to achieve that goal is to do a league that has ALL of the following, day 1:

Why day 1? I feel like you're just angry and think everything has to be perfect straight away, while in reality it only needs to be better than ESEA.

DarkNecrid* Multiple free divisions to handle the entirety of UGC's 6s player base.

* Multiple paid divisions to handle the entirety of ESEA's player base, each with prize pools.
- This also means having people behind this trustworthy enough to give money to and actually handle a prize pool

Why would you require payed divisions? Not many people play this games and the ones that do play it because they're passionate anyway.

DarkNecrid* Ideally teamed up with some LAN to host a LAN for the Invite-esque division.

You're kidding me? It would HAVE TO have a LAN? I don't see this as impossible (if you could get passionate admins), but honestly how can this be your requirement when ESEA doesn't have it anymore?

DarkNecrid* In-game medals to further entice the free players, along with medals for the paid players (which would look better or have special features to them e.g. paint support)
- This means you need to team up with someone in the community that is good at Workshop stuff to create these medals and communicate with Valve about it.
- Fancy cosmetic medals might also entice players into paying to look special.

This can be done, but still why do you need a fee?

DarkNecrid* Free, good servers that can be setup and accessed quickly through a website just in case for matches.
- Means you probably gotta team up with tragicservers or serve.me or something if you want to have enough for everyone.
- Probably would still need to pay for more to handle load regardless tho.

In EU we almost exclusively use serverme, there are no etf2l servers anymore. Having to get your own servers is more of a minor inconvenience.

DarkNecrid* Website
- Website needs to have good match support, including links to STV after the fact and ideally embed the logs.tf page into the match write up.
- Ideally website can track player stats over seasons like ESEA's can.
- Website needs to have a professional layout.
- This either needs to get paid for or provided somehow.
- Is an avenue to provide sponsor advertisements and maybe get some of them on board for some light support. (maybe - somethin akin to what ETF2L had with Thermaltake but for NA)

ETF2L have the option to upload STV demos.
Why do you need imbedded logs? In eu we look at our logs, and some post them in the comments of the match page. Another minor inconvenience I guess.
ESEA website doesn't have a professional layout and it's extremely difficult for a new player to navigate.

DarkNecrid* Great support staff.
- This means finding great admins who know their shit and won't be biased/crumble at the slightest opposition.
- Also means finding people who are cool with answering tickets and won't suck ass at it.
- This means having a great Anti Cheat team which probably means teaming up with Miggy and his bois.
- This means roping TF.TV's casting squad into casting matches and getting people to write articles for it asap.

People from the community would need to step up.

DarkNecrid* Word of mouth
- People need to spread it to every other 6s team on ESEA and UGC and it needs to be super well known so that people swap.

This would be difficult, but yes.

DarkNecridIf you don't have all of this you either won't grab the ESEA players or you won't grab the UGC players.

You wouldn't need all this as ESEA doesn't have all these things, and some things are just inconvenienes. Imo you should focus your attention to the biggest reasons why the ESEA playerbase is failing. From what I've heard the biggest reason is the entrance fee, but I don't know enough to claim that's the truth. With that said, I don't think the ESEA lan is the reason signups are down and I don't think not having good enough medals is the reason.

DarkNecridIt's that "simple".

Nobody said it would be simple.
