#2904 PC Build Thread in Hardware

I've been doing a lot more production stuff in general, as well as streaming on my personal channel, and am looking at putting together a dedicated encoding/streaming rig so I can utilize h.264 encoding and use higher encoding settings overall without impacting the performance of my gaming/observing PC.

I don't mind dropping up to my max budget (1200 USD) but would like to use as little of it as I can. Would also like to upgrade to a 240hz monitor within this budget. I'm selling my 144hz to offset a bit of that cost, so fitting that into the budget would be preferred.

PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Fdgfvn
Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Fdgfvn/by_merchant/

Anything I could/should change? Space is a notable concern, but it seems hard to find SFF cases for micro ATX boards. If I opt to not get a new monitor, is the next setup a good option for minimal space?

Intel Skull canyon NUC ($520.00 on Newegg)
ADATA - SU800 128GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($40.00 @ Amazon)
4GB SODIMM G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR4 (42.00 @ Newegg)
Razer Ripsaw or ElgatoHD60 USB 3.0 Capture Card (~$170.00 for either one depending on vendor)
Total: ~$772.00
Total with monitor: ~$1215.00

Looking for recommendations on which setup I should go with considering space/sound concerns and whether either could be improved, will be using this for both personal and professional streams, so it's important to me that I get this right.

CrimeScenesnip

Seconded, the Pixel family in general are just really nice smartphones. Everything runs fluidly, the 4k60fps camera is one of the best mobile cameras on the market, and the display is really nice. battery on the XLs have always been really good for me as well, lasts a lot longer then previous phones I owned.

#2 Best gaming mousepad?? in Q/A Help

for cloth mousepads i know that the SteelSeries QCK and Sloth eSports Mousepads are very popular and very good

they're overpriced as hell but if you can get a good deal/sale on one logitech G640 mousepads are really fucking great, logitech sometimes run promotions when you buy other peripherals to give you a free one and I know sometimes ESL has a promo code to get one with a logitech purchase they run during CS events they sponsor

#2 Windows Dedicated Server help: SM crashes in Q/A Help

bump, if this is a known issue with windows installs (or the specific version of windows) of TF2 dedicated server, I'm fine with digging out my debian USB install, would just like to know if there is a way to get this working.

#5 Big Dreamers LFP S28 in Recruitment (looking for players)

last minute bump; we have our current mains/subs rostered, so we have a team slot reserved next season and are not in a rush to pick up players yet. Still looking mainly for a solid demoman with a mostly open schedule Tuesday-Sunday and drive to improve. Also looking for medics of any skill level; on that front, our main concern is dedication to improvement and willingness to stick together. If you have a base understanding of the class and mechanics nailed down, dom is down to help you hone in on getting better at medic. scrims and matches will be most days, with Fridays being reserved for mentor review time with fygg.

#2 ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals Discussion in CS2 General Discussion

rooting for my boys in blue as always, hoping FNS can pull shit together as i know hes a bit uncomfortable in the current team flow

greyhound put up one hell of a show at IEM sydney, looking forward to seeing them play again

hoping for NIP to pull through to playoffs as well but who knows with them

seeing sharks for the first time at a tier1 event due to adding a SA pro league will be cool, good chance for them to show what they have on a big stage

navi are a wild card like every tournament, seems they either flop or make a divebomb deep into playoffs, no in-between.

overall looking like a solid tournament
