Pvt_ParrotCitricit would be hugely beneficial to both competitive and casual to improve the quality of voice chat.i mean cs:go's engine is modified but it's still Source so what's the problem??
then again, why couldn't they reuse the basic principles of matchmaking from it, like normal server picking so you dont have 9000 ping and, you know, RANK CALIBRATION??
Because while TF2 and CSGO are both Source engine they are very different versions of source, you can't just copy + paste it. That's why they couldn't just copy CSGO's matchmaking system and change it for TF2, they had to develop it on their own.
I feel like our NA scene lacks analytical casters as well.
I don't want or need 2 casters telling me WHAT people are doing, I want one to tell me what is happening and I want one to tell me WHY it's happening.
If you provide context or logic to why players are doing what they're doing it would make the game a lot easier for people to digest. I know pretty much ALL of our NA casters are capable of this because they themselves have competed at a high level in some form/
flatlineWeapon viewmodels
- The field-of-view slider has been re-added to Adv. Options menu (range: 54 to 70 degrees)
- This feature is now allowed in Competitive Mode
- Improved and fixed many animations when using a higher viewmodel field-of-view

Less cringe and more me being a nerd and fuck hackers.
Edit: it seems that my post was hidden for some reason so here is my response and this nerds info.

Might want to think about going through all of your reddit comments and un-linking shit before you post an admission about hacking.
I swear to god if I hear someone is hacking they're a furry 9 out of 10 times.
edit: I reported them regardless, dunno how much it matters but whatever.

RainofLightfahrenheitRainofLightwhy would they make a new quake with gimmicks
when they could just improve on quake live and popularize that game
FP arena shooters have been falling out of style for years and this is a way they cut themselves into the market and capitalize off the new popularity of FP class based shooters.
I understand quake live how it is could never be super popular because it's a classic arena shooter
but I was thinking they could just add a class based mode to quake live and up the price a little
though I'm guessing they didn't do that because making a separate new release makes more money
If they did that, making an original Quake game and adding a class mode to it, nobody would play the class mode. Since the genre is so unpopular only old Quake fans would be buying the game and old Quake fans don't want classes since it deviates from what they're used to too much.

edit: And the biggest problem with that is Quake is built on this "dead" genre (sparing singleplayer), so they will have an insanely difficult time bringing in new players; this is the easiest way for them to do that. They already have all the mechanics there they just have to make the classes and balance them.
ADVANCED MOVEMENT CAPABILITIES
It looks like it creates a healing aura around the target so I would guess he's using viewmodel_fov 0
which does not work anymore :-(
