He is not the sole reason, he is a symptom and merely reinforces. You could see extremely divisive right-wing rhetoric stewing on places on YouTube before he was president and only continued the gestate and grow more dire after he became president. He was elected by those people because Trump has a platform they identify with. It's not like he was made president out of nowhere.

Fact of the matter is currently to distinguish them is that as far as we know the Daytona shooter was not motivated politically in his attacks and had a distinct history with violence (kicked out of school for having a Kill List (for boys) and a Rape List (for girls)). He also was described as a complete and utter bully by his classmates that terrorized and scared them.
Daytona shooter seems like it was a long time coming that he would act out like this

I thought they were still destructible but they just healed themselves while constructing which made them more annoying to destroy
