#35 Increasing DPI vs. increasing in-game sensitivity in Q/A Help
hooliCan someone explain how to derive your max in-game sensitivity from your real fov? I don't understand how I'm supposed to get it using phoon's site. Also, do I need to input my real fov or does phoon already calculate my real fov?

http://www.wsgf.org/fovcalc.php
this will help (leave the old resolution alone; tf2's fov calc is 4:3 and it just adds in sidebars to scale to other aspect ratios, hence why you see more in 16:9 than 4:3 at the same fov)

#32 Increasing DPI vs. increasing in-game sensitivity in Q/A Help
OblivionageDave_moleAnyone know the native dpi for sensei raw? I use 400 dpi and 5.37 in-game, time to make some changes I guess.

I found it I think. 90, 180, 270, 360 and so on is the native dpi.

Edit: Does it really make big difference if my settings aren't optimal? I tried 720 dpi and 3.3 in-game so it feels like the previous settings in-game, but it feels way too high in windows, though I guess it's only a matter of getting used to it.

Edit2: How can I check how many pixels I skipped with my previous settings?

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure that sensor apparently functions flawlessly at 810 dpi. (At least the naos does and they have the same sensor). Uninterpolated dpi steps are in increments of 90.

if this is true why do most people use 850dpi or non-90 incremental dpi's? how much of a difference is there between 810 & 850? jw if you knew.

810 is really odd, and I guess maybe people thought that the mouse went in 50dpi steps or they just felt that 50 (or 100dpi) was a good increment instead of 90.

When I used my sensei, I didn't use 90dpi stepping; I played at either 400 or 600dpi since my last mouse had 100dpi stepping. So it might just be because their old mouse was 850dpi or had 50 dpi steps or something. Just my best guess.

#34 ZOWIE FK1 Review in Hardware
molecaembermolehektikpovohatSensei Raw has an older laser sensor (Avago A9500)
Zowie FK1 has a current optical sensor (Pixart PMW3310H)

Sensei's sensor has accel, FK1's hasn't!

I don't get accel with my sensei raw. I ran Mouse Movement Recorder to test it.
you can test your hardware accel like that: go into TF2, mark your mouse position with your thumb, move the mouse an arbitrary amount slowly, then move it back really fast until it hits your thumb again. If you end up in (basically) the same location, you don't have hardware acceleration

I've tried that and haven't noticed any accel.

then you're not trying hard enough
