#5 DeutschLAN HL Pre-LAN Showmatch Series: checkers vs. Stacked in Events

LAN hype so far has been mostly by the players themselves, let's see if these showmatches can hype up the spectators so much that they will donate sufficient amounts of money for the pizza goal! (who cares about transportation anyway let's be real here)

Also, would it be an idea to link the ETF2L newspost here? Since these showmatches (from my understanding) are part of the fundraising and/or hype stuff, it might be useful to have all that information available on TFTV too.

Edit: I know there's a link to the newspost to the side, but I meant more a mention of it in the text itself

#153 TF2 Feature Requests and Bug Fixes in TF2 General Discussion

Fix the 'An issue with your computer is blocking the VAC system, you cannot play on secure servers' bug

I'm aware it's not TF2-exclusive, but seriously, about half of the scrims/officials I've played or watched lately have had to deal with this :<

#104 Fully Charged! Valve and Competitive TF2 - Episode 42 in Events

Can you upload the VOD as soon as possible? I'm not gonna stay up until 2:30 AM, but I do want to see this as soon as I wake up!

#72 Fully Charged! Valve and Competitive TF2 - Episode 42 in Events

The question that's mostly been on my mind: will this seek to take over the duties of leagues (etf2l/esea/ugc/etc) and websites (tf2center/tf2pickup/etc)?

I'm personally hoping that, instead of taking over those duties, it provides a place for newer players to experience competitive easily, without needing to know to which exact external websites to go. Then it also promotes websites such as tftv, tf2center and etf2l, so that they know where to go once they kind of get a feel for it. This way the already existing community-built services (and ESEA) would hopefully get a big boost in playerbase, rather than having their playerbase taken from them by Valve's own matchmaking.

Curious to hear other people's expectations for this, and hopefully it'll get answered in FT :>

#2 UGC Gold HL GRAND FINALS - The Bureau vs TC Expres in Events

Miknando to show off his MGE-trained soldier dm in a vain attempt to prove to the world he's not a spy main. But we all know he is, of course!

#5 twitch streams buffering? in TF2 General Discussion

Can confirm, pretty much every stream I watch is laggy if I do it through a browser (doesn't matter which), with this, it's pretty much nonexistent. I actually found out about it through a thread on tftv though, so it has in fact been posted before!

#2 snd_mixahead in Q/A Help

Pretty sure snd_mixahead uses seconds as values, meaning setting it to 0.5 would lead to half a second of delay. Maybe I've got the explanation wrong, but either way, try using 0.05 instead

Edit: looks like you've changed your original post to use 0.05 instead (that or I just fail at reading), so I guess you can disregard my post

#8 Guide to Streaming with 2 Computers (2PC Setup) in Q/A Help

I'd never even considered this as a possiblity, thanks for this guide, it looks like it'd help quite a lot of people!

Also, would I be right to assume the specs from the Streaming computer wouldn't need to be *too* high, as it doesn't need to render things? I have a laptop that would run TF2 at 10-30 fps, but now I'm wondering if it could work for this purpose.

#5 Highlander DeutschLAN in LAN Discussion

8 Players per house: social hierarchies at their finest!

That aside, really great initiative! I think there might actually be quite a lot of Highlander players seriously considering going there; I know I am!

#5 chrome layout changing by itself? in Off Topic

I randomly had this too, it was really annoying. It was a problem with DPI scaling; what fixed it for me is going to the properties (shortcut works when you only use that shortcut to launch, exe would probably be better Edit: apparently it only applies to shortcuts), then going to 'target' and appending this after all the text already there:

 /high-dpi-support=1 /force-device-scale-factor=1

So for me, it looks like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" /high-dpi-support=1 /force-device-scale-factor=1

Hope that helps you out!

#30 Easy way of finding scrims in TF2 General Discussion

Do you plan on allowing people to delete or edit previous posts? Say if you accidentally clicked the wrong time for a scrim proposal, or, like I did, mistyped something in the map section? Or perhaps a team has already found a scrim with a different team? For stuff like that it might be useful.

Also, would you consider including an optional 'preferred time' for teams?

This seems like a really great initiative by the way, if a bunch of teams join it, it will make the lives of people trying to arrange scrims in advance so much easier! (I had no success so far with scrim.tf, tf.wars is very last-moment, so is the highlander team leaders steam group though to a lesser degree)

#13 streams lag on 50 mb down in Off Topic

For me this thing called Tardsplaya seems to help, despite its rather lame name. It's similar to livestreamer I guess, only with a GUI.
