#35 longest you've gone without sleep in Off Topic
FunsFuxxAround 40 hours and made the mistake of taking some pills while I still had some alcohol in my system when I went to bed. I woke up like an hour later with the weirdest fucking sensation ever, like my brain couldn't process 3D spatial movement and had to overcompensate, as though I was in some 7 dimensional space or some weird shit like that. Ultra disoriented. I was fully aware of my state but I couldn't for the life of me walk normally, stand up normally or even think normally, it was like something wasn't working right in my head. You Woke Up Brother

#14 shotgun pocket = noob? in TF2 General Discussion
MarxistI am old and thus prefer even seeing shotgun roamer from time to time. I mean how often are you gonna jump during a gullywash mid --) 2 stalemate? May as well scare the shit out of some scout by whipping a shotgun out on him in big door lol.

my nigga, agree 100%

all these gunboats roamer that never even put the unlock to use smh #bringbackshotgunroamer

trippawho the fuck uses gunboats in dm? calling someone out for using shotgun in dm is the dumbest thing ive ever heard

happens to me pretty often and I only whip it out when I run out of rockets anyway. idk

#58 How to TF2 episode 2 in TF2 General Discussion

In standard full team fights (like mid fights) do you intentionally pursue other scouts or do you deliberately avoid them to focus on other classes?

#3 shotgun pocket = noob? in TF2 General Discussion

My team's fine with how I play, the salt only comes from enemy gamers. I've also noticed that in DM servers players are quicker to call people out for using the shotgun than they are to call out demomen that run only stickies.

lol?

#1 shotgun pocket = noob? in TF2 General Discussion

Somewhere around a year ago or so when I was taking a break from the game, the Pocket meta switched from running shotgun to running gunboats. I, being stubborn, decided to keep shotgun when playing pocket, but I keep being called out for it by enemy gamers, as though I'm being "cheap" or "nooby".

I don't get why the mentality changed. Why do pocket mains run gunboats now? This is especially confusing to me when I never see them go for high bombs or sacks or any kind of play that relies on consistent jumping and HP management. Why is running the shotgun and owning scouts seen as cheap? Have I just run into a series of salty players or am I legitimately harming my team?

#19 Why don't roamers offclass? in TF2 General Discussion

Offclassing is one of those things that require map and game intuition to apply correctly. It never crosses the mind of a huge portion of the people who play comp why they are playing the way that they should be. They just learned to mimic what others did, imitating the meta developed by the true great players. They do not understand why it's meant to work in the situations that it does and as a result they never question if there could be something different they could be doing that could be more effective. This stagnation is one of the two real answers to "why don't roamers offclass", which is a very good question indeed when the Scout, now more than ever before, dominates the playing field.

The second answer is that 6s meta is built upon speed and versatility. The cookie cutter class composition is useful and effective in virtually every situation and has the mechanics to very quickly move from A to B. There is no class that the roamer can offclass to that can top its speed, but there are classes that he can offclass to that can grant a greater situational advantage. It then depends on your analysis of the situation to determine what is right.

In EU at least, offclassing has always been commonplace in the highest tier, but they are so much more careful when they do it and how they apply it because when you're at the top level then you're against teams that will immediately exploit any weakness that they will find. This leads to a vicious cycle of teams choosing not to offclass because they've not trained enough to handle any situation like that, so they never learn how to play with offclasses more efficiently.

AdebisiThey're purists, detesting any deviation from meta classes

It's why you ll often see them target snipers on product

And when one says offclassing one can say the same about the use of certain unlocks or certain other tactics. TF2 comp has a very bad habit of "do, don't think".
