#122 TF2 update for 7/28/16 in TF2 General Discussion
DoctorMiggy_KermitWhat'd be nice is if they communicated with us, like acknowledging the retarded amount of cheaters that have been almost completely unpunished and what they will/want to do about them, or officially stating why they want to force viewmodels, or why they refuse to talk about class limits.

Honestly just something from them would be reassuring.

They won't.
I have so much I'd like to say on this subject but I'd rather not piss off the Valve dudes.
I would like to say though that I've emailed them more than a handful of times regarding cheats/exploits, ways to detect cheats, and ways they can improve VAC/make it harder for players to cheat and they've only ever replied to me once (When I sent source for F1 and Darkstorm which lmaobox had pretty much stolen most of its code from).

Honestly, it was a huge bummer to get no reply on topics I felt I really could help them out with. I would have much preferred to be old "No, we looked into those and it didn't work too well" rather than getting absolute silence in response.

I'd like to point out that who you email and a little bit of luck matters. Eric told me that Valve has some pretty strict spam filters that they can't individually control and unfortunately a fair amount of legitimate email tends to get lost due to that.

They also get a LOT of email.

There are no paid raffles -- you can't win anything from your donations.

You can, however, donate items that will be converted to cash and treated as a cash donation.

More info on that, and another thing relating to item donations, is coming soon.

Yeah, my mistake. I meant an item donation, not necessarily a prize specifically.

Then you'll have a chance to donate items towards toth very soon.

HidiHow are prize donations working this year? I'd like to contribute something.

Paladin_IMSyttriumdo the variables have a max value

can these be used to move it offscreen

not right now they don't. but it's sv_cheats only so it doesnt matter.

for some odd reason they decided to shove x y z in the entire command instead of like csgo. wonder if you could even limit them when theyre in a single command.

They can totally limit them, just not through the standard convar limit system

#107 Official Froyotech i58 Fundraiser in TF2 General Discussion
16jacobjWill donating keys via scrap.tf be as good as paypal, or should I try selling the keys and donating the money?
(srry mr geel)

They will actually receive more per-key (around $2) than you would be able to get yourself

#104 Official Froyotech i58 Fundraiser in TF2 General Discussion
ErraticMercyless-b4nnyBlehI apologize if this question was answered earlier but if I purchase a Froyotech hoodie, does that entitle me to donation benefits like weapon signatures and a demo review or is that a separate donation i have to make? I'm most likely going to buy a hoodie either way but was wondering this. The merch and donations are separate, unfortunately. Part of the goal with offering merch was that it would serve as its own sort of perk to supporting the team. Hope you like your froyohoodie!

And an update for all: We have raised $1000 across all platforms now! Huge thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. The donations and merch orders have been coming in steadily which is awesome. If we keep up this pace we will certainly meet the goal. We have about 16 days left in the teespring campaigns so get your froyotees and hoodies while you still can!

Are we meant to email you to claim the donation perks or should we wait for an email to our paypal account's email?

Also, how do we receive perks if we donated through scrap.tf? Are they going to be taken care of in the near future?

We'll be sending b4nny a spreadsheet of all donations after the event.

#9 TF2 Update on Matchmaking in TF2 General Discussion
wickedplayer494Geel9wickedplayer494TLDR: still nothing for how the hell they're going to deal with the greatly increased power of GTX 1070s, 1080s, and in the not too distant future, RX 490s.
This post doesn't really make sense man
The top post on "that other place with those weird aliens" is literally all about the fact that Valve needs to step their stuff up when it comes to actually taking advantage of people with high-performance systems.

But TF2's major bottleneck has always been the CPU. You can't just move that shit onto the GPU in most cases.

I assume you're talking about, like, more particle effects, higher quality textures, etc. Which I guess would be nice but I think that there are higher priorities.
