#94 Lowpander swaps out Kissakala and Grenjabob, Crayon joins in News
HildrethAll I did was post some facts for you, your response is to slander me, which is a clear sign you haven't really got a good argument to present...

He has no trust in you because of your past record. The head admin at the time is backing up his perception, it would be harder to imagine a stronger witness. This isn't an ad hominem attack, it's a genuine concern. It's also not slanderous if it's true.

#20 i61 news when? in LAN Discussion

No news yet on whether or not there will be TF2, so I'll say this:

Last time the open tournament was done with servme using Battlefy and there was no monetary prize for the open tournament. This means it costs $0 to run, and we can even set up a Matcherino for it.

If there is no/limited Multiplay interest, I'll do it myself.

Serveme had to be used last time because someone let tsc near the game servers, it should be all on lan servers and always has been historically.

There's also no real distinction between the open and invite tournament in terms of prize, they're the same event. Teams from the open bracket qualify to the knockout rounds, the invite group basically have a bye into the knockout rounds and compete for seeding initially. Obviously if for some reason there's no TF2 tournament then this distinction won't matter, but there was technically a prize for the open section last time, it's all the same competition.

#5 Player and server statistics for comp TF2 in Projects
teamworktfAnother interesting fact is the huge difference in the way that Steam reports playing users, compared to what is being observed of in-gameserver players as noticed by MR SLIN.

FFS does Slin have to take credit for everything I do?

teamworktf your work has already been noted and action is being taken to reshape competitive into a more representative form

7 only lost 1 game all season against champ.gg, but they were playing Stark on medic. Arctic Foxes took Elo off them a couple of times but only by getting draws

#26 Mr Slin - Potential Fixes for 5cp in Comp TF2 in Videos

Changes have to stop moving in a defensive direction. Air stickies are worse so demomen are worse going forward. There are more healing and defensive options because we've unbanned the unlocks. These incremental changes all add up, large or bizarre changes aren't needed.

Weapons need to be made better in attacking situations to encourage and reward players for getting into attacking situations.

Maps could do with making entry into points easier so ubers don't get popped so early for the attackers and low risk holds on points could be made riskier.

Methods of disrupting the uber cycle could be made easier as uber asymmetry helps aggression.

Make Kritz viable.

5cp isn't broken, it's like Soccer was 30 years ago before changes were made to encourage more attacking play.

WadeESAknsumeEvery time AronTimes posts on the Reddit thread about this it makes me want to die.Haha why is that?

He is compiling a secret report on competitive TF2 focusing on the shadowy cabal of evildoers in tftv that he intends to submit to Valve when complete

I didn't make that up. He won't be turning up to your events by the way, he just irrationally hates everybody that you hope will (except Mr Vincent)

A terrifying suggestion: limit unlocks, not classes, including stock

#10 Uncle Dane reviews the built-in comp mode in Videos
thesqrtminus1I really think that 5cp is a fun game mode, but it is not perfect and definitely prone to stalemates when the two teams playing it have equal skill levels, and I think pl could and should be played in 6s, albeit with some modifications (like the ones mentioned above)

It's not skill level that produces turtling, it's the preponderance of defensive classes that slow the game down and circumstances arising in which it can be in both team's interests to not fight, a minor example is the leading team defending last, trailing team holding outside building uber, or the really horrific case of the leading team holding outside last to burn the round timer to near zero before pushing and the defending team not wanting to push out because losing the round is worse than losing the time.

In PL or AD it's a constant last push, but at least the attackers never want to game a round timer.

The antidote is koth, where pushing is forced by the timer and players still get the excitement of switching rapidly between attacking and defending, but the number of good koth maps is small.
