#531 Fantasy TF2: Let’s do this! in Projects
tsarAny chance for ESEA Fantasy?

Their cloudflare protection makes it a pain in the ass

Beater is working hard behind the scenes to make this ETF2L season happen. I didn't want to commit him until it's 100% though

Imagine hearing those words today....

Thousands still think it, every day

#302 sigafoo tf2 league in TF2 General Discussion
nopeyes except that mm is cancer and is more likely to turn people away from tf2 altogether than to show them the fun inherent on 6s

Nobody is suggesting anything else, but it's there and it's users need saving from hell

#23 Valve shuts down SPUF in Off Topic
thesqrtminus1GentlemanJonThey probably don't want to maintain the old forum software any more. Security, platform maintenance, all that stuff.i mean they could've given some warning so that people could archive it

Yeah, but when did they not handle things badly? Back for now anyway

nopeMM isn't currently helpful except in the sense that it legitimises 6v6 as a format. It's meant to be a competitive matchmaking system but it's currently not competitive or any good at making matches.

It is potentially useful in that a new player that is competitively minded will go there first. Players that play MM will at least have some interest in playing a structured format with the focus on the objective. They may even stop playing pyro long enough to actually help their team. Essentially they are self selecting potential competitive players, it seems obvious there should be a focus on converting them.

nitei mean just look at the stats, something like 25% of players are playing on 2fort and turbine at any given time. the average person who plays this game don't want a competitive, objective oriented, teamwork dependant experience.

Real talk, can't disagree with this. Instead of dicking around with formats time would better be spent making sure that any player that is competitively minded finds out about their options, and has an easy intro via newbie mixes. The focus has to be on how to move from MM into 6s.

FreudSigafoo prolander to have better whitelist than 6s?

If you use the pick/ban system you only get 4 bans before the picking begins, so probably not

I couldn't once choose the executive that decided to fit shitty brake systems to all these failing cars to be run over. I feel like the moral spectrum of the questions isn't broad enough.

#22 Several gaming organizations drop overwatch in Esports
HueyLewisSo to my understanding this is Blizzard making a league that is starting to be more attractive to legit sports orgs (like NBA teams and the like?). So when you add the financial legitimacy of those organizations you can basically price out eSports orgs who don't deal with near the same kind of money.

Yes. Existing orgs are jumping before they are pushed, although realistically they've already been pushed. It also explains Blizzard's indifference to the existing esports scene.

They're trying to create something on a completely new scale for a game. It'll be interesting to see how well they do but I'm sure they'll find the right price point eventually. If it's low enough for existing esports teams they'll be back, but that would represent a failure on Blizzard's part.

b4nny... surveys proclaiming TF2 has been ruined...

I ran a survey to objectively acquire player opinion on unlocks. I missed the part where any of the analysis proclaimed "TF2 has been ruined". I don't think this kind of hyperbole is useful or constructive.

#43 May Global Whitelist Changes in TF2 General Discussion
AoshiAlthough that poll was probably one of the more popular things within the discussion it is kinda lacking. Main reasoning within the whitelist changes are weapons what were discussed. Active discussions with players, definitely higher level ones, are more appealing because you see the reasoning behind why they want a weapon banned/unbanned.
Personally after asking around 35-40 ETF2L Premiership players the Vaccinator got a 70% in favor of a ban. The poll of GentlemanJon had it around 50-50.GentlemanJonhttp://i.imgur.com/WewdJ14.png

Apart from Medics the Vacc was clearly disliked, it's just outside the bottom 20% of all items. The main other split on the item not illustrated there was NA/EU, with EU clearly holding a more negative opinion of it. Your player consultation confirmed that.
