#27 ESU Community Rumble appreciation thread in LAN Discussion

Finally home!

Big shoutouts to Essentials.tf for all of their work, cannot thank them enough for the LAN and the great experience I had, I have been to 16 LANs in my TF2 lifetime and this is probably been my favourite.
Big ups to Heny for the organising as well, cannot be easy to organise so many nerds but he did a great job and thanks for scheduling the games late so we had time to sleep / drink excessively.
Shoutout to Froyotech for winning, though we got well beaten it was a pleasure to play a team of your quality who play the game in an interesting way.
Alba much love for the IRL stream and all the fun times.
Foz for translating the menu at the Pizza place.
The group of Warhuhyeah subs for being funny and genuinely nice people.
Lux for attending every LAN as always.
Minions in Pajamas for the most boring TF2 match I ever played but being funny.

Finally my team - Papi you're a mongoloid for the "incident" but the adventure of travelling to Lidköping was one of the funniest I had, Funs for getting kicked out of the smallest airport ever because it closed and having to sit outside in rain and cold for 4 hours and also the "incident". Mon for going afk during one game to watch DOTA 2 and switching from 144Hz to 60Hz. Marten for being willing to take the blame for me stalling the Swedish car and finally Muuki for being Muuki.

Final - Shoutout to all the people there, I spoke to a lot of people and met so many I forgot names.

#11 im in the ESL PUBG finals for IEM Oakland in Esports
bleghfarecHildrethI find it kinda bad to spectate this just because the game is so huge - It's interesting to see where people are but the camerawork is not interesting, there is always fighting but you're just looking in Birds eye view or some guys looting. It's really hard to follow, bad to spectate in my opinion.

Shame cos I really enjoy the game but they have to improve the camerawork and streaming concepts

The PUBG invitational used like, 40 monitors for observing.

I always think simple is better - like in TF2 when people such as TrukTruk streamed with a cheat sheet on a delayed STV he caught nearly everything - It's a different game PUBG I don't think they have these sort of things implemented in the Spectating mode but it's a pretty simple concept - A talented cameraman who understands how the game works reading the killfeed and switching to the right person.

I wish actually TF2 cameramen would do this more, I still remember when TrukTruk did streams of ESEA LANs and you'd miss nothing.

Good luck dude.

Shame cos I really enjoy the game but they have to improve the camerawork and streaming concepts - It says a lot when TF2 is a better spectator game than you.

Edit - OH messiah just died FeelsBadMan

#21 What does Comp. community think about new maps? in TF2 General Discussion

Not played any maps from this update that would be remotely playable in 6s.

#14 Catalan independence in World Events

Without knowing the socio-politically reasons behind this independence drive aside from a bit of reading, this seems to weight heavily on the President of the Catalan Parliament being ousted. This comes either from the local constabulary enforcing either the Spanish governments direct rule or the Local governments self-declared independence.

My guess is there the only violence that will occur from this will be from protesters and police.

#14 SVIFT NA says goodnight to Thaigrr, adds marmadukeGRYLLS in News
ZestyYeah except the servers are in the US equivalent of Moldova so the ping advantage is the opposite way around to the time advantage.

Shhh, I don't want to have to start using NA logic and play on Russian servers.

#6 SVIFT NA says goodnight to Thaigrr, adds marmadukeGRYLLS in News

If Thaigrr has to set his alarm at 4am for a match, then does that mean East coasters playing at 11pm to midnight?

Does this make East coasters the Russians of NA? Meanwhile West coasters are the privileged Brits playing at a normal time of 8pm?

#117 Are you happy with the pyro update changes? in TF2 General Discussion

Barely played it but new weapon is fun, new A/D maps aren't that fun imo, matchmaking system still buggy not really improved, the UI looks pretty good (I miss my HUD though).

It's good to have an update though, keeps the game alive...

Just thought I'd pick this thread to encourage people to recognize the hard fuckin' work they've been putting in with a small small team. I'm not letting the inconvenient queue times get to me too much. They're really trying.

It's cool you're on a first name basis with them and everything but I can't be bothered to queue 30 minutes to play a game where a week ago I could play in 30 seconds. Their hard work (for which I am sure they get paid to do) isn't going to make me satisfied until it actually works properly.
