#3 Rental ticket ? in LAN Discussion

If you booked Rentals you would have a ticket like your BYOC and it'd be attached to your confirmation email in a PDF format.

#61 i61 streamed? in Q/A Help

I dunno why the skill level is a big deal to people - NA teams didn't want to go, so we won't see the best from NA, simple as that.

Either way, comparing generations is stupid, it's like saying the UEFA European Championship is 2020 is worthless because the 2012 tournament had the best team ever Spain play. Eras are irrelevant and in the past, tournaments are for the present players.

#15 i61 streamed? in Q/A Help
oJMouldArieIt's not about splitting the community, it's about who shows up and actually does the work. There's coverage of i61 because essentials.tf is making it happen.
It just worries me that despite actively following the scene I had no idea this was happening on the essentials twitch until now, and that's 3 days before the event starts. Someone that doesn't follow that much might not know, and I think it would be wrong for me not to be concerned about that.
Obviously I don't know the situation and I'm sure there's a great justification for them to want to do it under another banner but from the outside perspective I can't help but just wonder why it's not just blobbed into one big org, given that it looks like the same casting/observer talent as seen in tftv, though I'm sure the people I don't recognise are also great at things.

For me personally, I'm often trying to tell my friends that maybe don't watch any tf2 but watch csgo or LoL and that, where they can watch tf2 content and it's easier in word of mouth to advertise one brand compared to two. Probably should have been a bit less callous in my wording originally, but I think it's worth discussing because I'm sure I can't be the only person who had no idea.

Won't tf.tv just host the essentials stream anyway?

I am sure TFTV will, the lack of activity on here may be lended to the fact TFTV are not covering.the event but i would expect "the home of competitive TF2" to provide some form of coverage even if its just reposting other people's work on their website since this is the biggest LAN event in our calander despite the lack of NA teams.

#42 TF2 at the Olympics? in TF2 General Discussion

To answer the OP - No.

I don't see why eSports in general can't hold their own Gaming Olympics.

Or even TF2 leagues like ETF2L could host a TF2 Olympics where various competitive versions of TF2 can be played from 6's to HL to MGE, to Bball to Rocket Jumping contests to interpretative TF2 dance to 12v12 on different maps to the big one of course - Saxton Hale.

Main issue with OG badlands is the respawn times when pushing out of last are far too short for the enemy team encouraging and promoting the defending team to turtle up and not push on smaller advantages, therefore fixing this and some minor clipping issues would be a big improvement on anything.

#4 rewind VODs? in TF2 General Discussion

To me its a sign that some saint could look at archiving lots of older VODs, like for example there was a whole lot of stuff covered on TF2TV that is just not there anymore because vods got too old and went and so forth.

Adam Skyride's MGE archive is an example of a priceless and timeless contribution.

#20 ESL staff on r/tf2 them having interest on tf2 in TF2 General Discussion

Real questions here aside from blind optimism people show in something like this.

Situation with ESL AC Client? I haven't paid any attention to ESL since it left TF2 the first time, but a lot of people had issue with the ESL Wire Client, which contributed to the less than impressive signups (though would probably be a realistic goal for them by todays standards). At the time I was a Div 5 player, so there was no incentive to play ESL, experience these issues when ETF2L was offering the same but with less problems. When the only incentive you are told is "will benefit the TF2 scene at the top" and you're not at the top and can't see yourself being at the top for many years, why try?

And people saying "lets try not to kill this one", what is being offered by these semi-linked e-sports organisations are versions of things we provide already as a community. You either need them to designed a sort of service (for our TF2 fix) that people are interested in and enjoy better than what is already offered or has a major incentive to get the limited amount of active competitive TF2 players into signing up consistently. You can also organise a combined community effort into promoting and sustaining promotion of the league - ESEA, ETF2L, UGC all have a presence in this community but something like this would require addition effort and ideas to provide incentive. Furthermore admins they select have to be dedicated and have good knowledge and understanding of how the scene operates and able to do their jobs effectively.

At the current state of the scene and what I know historically, I can't see this getting off the ground and working beyond a couple of seasons unless there is a more coefficient and combined community effort than people posting comments "really hope we don't fuck this up guys".

I'd be happy to play personally if the ESL Client is bearable, not too many issues with it otherwise.

dot_chicharito will score 3 times against united

To my new Mexican West Ham brethren, you are not familiar with our team so let me run some history past you.

Us at West Ham as a team could not defend a 5v6 last push with uber, an Engineer, Heavy and an opponent lagging out. So if he scores 3 vs Man Utd, they are scoring 4.

#1 SVIFT vs Lowpander - i61 Showmatch - TOMORROW in LAN Discussion

Hello all

In an effort to help raise funds for i61, where we will see a host of top EU talent (and me) at LAN, ourselves Lowpander (3rd place Prem and only team not to die in top 3 yet) will face off against SVIFT, the newly formed super team starring legends like b4nny and alle and who can forget newly crowned Premiership winner Raptor?

This will be livestreamed by Essentials.tf at tomorrow, Wednesday 2nd August at 20 CEST (+6 hours from Eastern Standard Time), with Hiipfire, Ombrack on the microphone and Wiethoofd taking up the voyeuristic duties, camera in hand. The maps will be decided by a community vote in the stream before each game (from the ETF2L Season 27 map pool). There will be 3 maps played.

The aim is to raise awareness for the event of Insomnia 61 and also help us both reach our mutual goals. Because I am writing this, I will plug us first, we're around 750 euros, so three quarters of the way there! Thanks so much to all you donators, remember to claim your perks if you want one!

We only need another 250 Euros or so to complete the fundraiser, donation links at the bottom.

SVIFT also have a FUNDRAISER, you can get more info at the bottom of the page.

They are looking to raise $2,000 as their goal and need a bit of extra help from you, the loving community to help them reach it! They also offer way more perks than us, check them out if you enjoy depressing music, little bo peep or anime!

After the game there may be a chance to do a little Q and A session afterwards, hop into https://www.twitch.tv/essentialstf at the end for more!
