Quick question on this, are there any rules against participants betting? I am thinking of throwing the game (I'll just play my normal game and no-one will notice) but what is there to stop this sort of thing?

I did want to do but I was in the minority of my team, some of the lads were quite annoyed about the delays to feel sympathy - end of the day it was nearly 11pm and people had to get up early, some of them even have bedtimes (lol). I certainly couldn't blame my team for not wanting to replay.

With that said, I was confident we were going to win either way I just wanted to do it right, doesn't feel like a deserved victory even though we played really well. Good game, hope to see you in the next Nations Cup. I also don't know why a lot of the teams refused weekends for you, majority of teams play on a Sunday at the very least, it was probably more a case teams didn't want to be understrength and were missing players, I don't think teams are malicious enough to purposely make you play on a weekday.

I am also disappointed with how it ended, however you cannot blame the admins for the technical issues, it isn't their fault and they have a deadline to adhere to. Furthermore I was willing to replay the round myself, most of my team were not as they had played for 3 hours and waited a long time for the 3rd map, understandable but I did not feel right winning on those terms.

I also apologise for my players but it wasn't just my team that were spitting daggers - It definitely isn't ETF2L's fault these things happened and when we agreed to play Sunday it was the last day before the deadline, the match finished literally 20 minutes before the results deadline, wasn't exactly time to reschedule. All we could have done was replayed the round, like I said I was happy to and still am but I highly doubt admins want this extra delay and my team would likely laugh at me.

It's a shame, it was an enjoyable and tense match and I had fun up until that point. What is worse for me is we're not talking about how well we played (England) as we did play really well, especially on Upward + Gpit, the first round we played some really good TF2 but rather than remember that all we're going to remember the drama.

Speaking of sportsmanship btw Huey, my team's Pyro is a big fan of yours and all he wanted to do was add you after the game and wish you a good game and thank you for the opportunity to play versus you. You declined his friend request and declined his dreams, #sniff.

Depends if you have the right balance between gaming, studies/work and social life.

Change your gaming experience - IF you don't enjoy it you need to figure out why. If you know why you don't enjoy it you need to figure out how to change it and if you know how to change it WHY THE FUCK AREN'T YOU CHANGING IT ALREADY? STOP WHINING AND DEAL WITH IT. There is no easy way to change something but no point in spending time on something you find frustrating, may as well make the changes needed to enjoy the game or if not possible, enjoy life.

I know there is a TF2 South African scene or there was at one point. Also Egypt have had a team in ETF2L and the Nations Cup. Your racism has failed.

It's a decent idea however at the moment all this thread is, is a bunch of people typing names of the best/most famous/popular figures in the community they can think of and then some guy adding the suggestions to a spreadsheet / list.

What you need is:

1) A panel of representatives from every corner of the community with suitable backgrounds ~(casters/writers/admins/promoters/streamers/top players and such) to be trusted to select/nominate inductees for many different categories.

2) Different categories to represent different parts of the competitive communities. You can have North American 6v6, Highlander, EU scene, Australian scene, Asian scene, South American scene, African scene if there is one? Or keep it simple - 6v6 inductees, Highlander inductees, Teams inductees, contributor inductees?

3) A Rule, tagline, guidelines...etc in order to be inducted. For example "players who have had major success and influence in the game". Or "Teams who have had major success, important impact or influence in the game". Or for contributors - "community members who have contributed massively to the development and ongoing success of the competitive scene". Something like that for the panel to work from. Maybe something like "person must have playing/active in TF2 for at least 2 years" or something before they can be inducted.

4) Somewhere for the hall of fame to be displayed - as suggested comp.tf would be a great place to stick a page, you can then expand on it and have pages/stubs for the people in it. Actually make it a place people want to visit.

This sort of organisation would make it worthwhile however such a thing would take a lot of effort of organise and I doubt you will find many people willing to do all of this (or executing something similar in an intelligent way).

Though people like DJC and Cbear who sadly no longer cast (or rarely do) will remain the best we've ever had in the scene, you need good casters to come up and replace them and Getawhale is one of the main ones.

In Yurope we play a more Demo-centric style, it changes how you approach the game as you do less damage per second meaning if you try the same things as before, less damage = less success. It isn't rocket science really. A lot of smaller things will change, small things you work into your game over years of playing, so some of those things like how you would fight a scout with good movement change because the scout won't take 110 damage from your close range sticky, he'll take say 50-60 so he can confidently run at you and take the damage to land the meatshot...that's a specific example but there will be a few changes.

As for HL Demoman, even more stuff changes. Can adjust, that is what will make a good player but you know...takes time.
