#521 2016 election live results in World Events
aim-HildrethI am extremely tilted by the election result of another country and I have come to this forum to complain.

Please acknowledge.
Didn't the Brits vote for something to run their country into the ground?

I could educate you but it's better for all of us for you to do your own research and report back to me.

Also does anyone else have the feeling they will be telling their Grandchildren that they played TF2 against Numlocked, who will be remembered in 50 years time as "The Pele of OW"?

Concept is really good, putting the intricacies of eSports/Gaming aside, Geographically we're inclined to root for local teams. Let's say for UK for example, the London team will be the one UK people follow. I mean I find OW boring to watch but I root for former TF2 players, but a potential spectator can potentially get behind a team represented by geographic location.

This has the potential to be something but we will see how it goes. All I can say is I am happy for the many talented TF2 players finally getting a financial reward from gaming, even if it's not TF2.

samifaceFor LAX, b4nny recommended using this service: http://shuttletolax.com/

An UBER from LAX to the Holiday Inn will run a little over $50 each way, that is not factoring in surge rates. Even split 3 ways thats kinda pricey. Please keep in mind too that in southern California, random traffic happens. It is entirely possible to get stuck for 1.5 hours getting down here from LA.

What is the cost of the Holiday Inn per night (without any special deals for the LAN). On the internet the one in Santa Ana approximately 1.5k away is around £150 (1.2 exchange rate to $180 roughly) for 3 nights over the weekend, booking in advanced. Of course, there are other alternatives, I seen a guest house nearby as well but no website for it, I wonder what the cost of B&B's and other low cost accommodations are locally.

Shuttletolax.com tells me a 6 passenger shuttle would cost approx £80 for a return between 5 or 6 people (Brits may arrive together if we're all booking the dirt cheap Norwegian Air flight from Gatwick to arrive at 16:10 local time, departing LAX around 5.30 and taking approximately 2 hours to get there accounting for traffic). That is around £13.33 each for both ways, not terrible.

I also looked at travelling on the Metro using Metro Trip Planner, whilst it isn't suitable for going to and from the Airport, after the event I want to visit some places, it looks fairly affordable, would people say this is a reliable website for information?

I assume as we're in a built up area lots of places to go including cheap supermarkets.

Will we be able to go to the Scientology Church across the road and mock them?

samifaceHildrethStrongly considering going, can anyone recommend cheapest accommodation options in the area?
they're working on a deal with the holiday inn which should be the most reasonable/where everyone is probably staying... hopefully will get that info soon

Thanks.

Will the deal be for the weekend only? I am not flying all the way to California to spend the weekend just at a LAN, I will want to stay a few days longer to see some of the sights.

#17 most hated tf2 teams in history in TF2 General Discussion
BulowPhoenix21wruLowpander because that workswho knew having 4 or 5 previously prem players would work in high???
they don't win thanks to muuki, they win despite muuki.

To be fair, most of the players who have prem experience gained it when Prem was at it's lowest ebb. Kissa Kala on Medic?????????????????????????????????????????? Hildoge in general?????????? Pastnieks????? Grenjabob on scout LOL! Imagine losing to them. Muuki carries that team single-handedly.

Truer words have never been spoken.
