cmewhat model of the a10? mine runs super hot ( between 70-90C) so I need to get a new fan and underclock it.
I'll let you know when I'm back home. I'm currently at college and on a crappy laptop

It's one of the first things he covers in the video. That should cover all that you have questions on.
op is talking about the default crosshairs not about hud crosshairs
I see. My bad.
ComangliaKonceptLegacyComangliaOld bench mark I did
basically the actual resolution doesn't matter, the aspect ratio does due to it's impact on your FOV
so 4:3 = Higher FPS ; Lower FOV
16:10 = Middle Ground
16:9 = Lower FPS ; Higher FOV
So I have a square monitor as my secondary monitor. Could that be the cause of my lowered fps? The only reason I'm using it is because I don't have another one on hand or the money to get another monitor. I'll try downscaling my resolution when I'm on it next time. And are you using your own config? And if so which one?
Honestly when I used 2 monitors and trying to play TF2 I usually disable the 2nd monitor as I always seemed to have weird fps drops because of it.
Just pick which monitor you want to use you have a 16:9 and a 4:3.
4:3 you'll have more fps but have narrower view
you could use a 4:3 res on the 16:9 monitor as well instead of using the square monitor.
Also I use a slightly different version for my tastes, but it's most similar to this one https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/92187841/gfx.cfg
So how would I disable the other monitor? Just unplug it or turn it off?
Also love your fps config :) thanks for making it!!

ScrewballStreaming at higher rez will drastically affect FPS. Just playing at higher rez without streaming has little effect if you are not GPU limited.
If you can wait until after the holidays look for a used AMD HD 7970/7950 on ebay if your PSU is up to the task. You can get them used for less than a 750ti and they perform the same as a r9 280x/280. Ebay prices are currently inflated due to the holidays.
I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!!
That last part is supposed to say performance btw
Hi guys
Lately I've noticed that my performance on my gaming PC has been decently lackluster, and it's gotten to the point where I can't stream due to it being incredibly taxing on my system, despite some of the stuff I have.
My CPU is an amd a10 processor, able to run at 4.1 ghz, with my gpu being the integrated graphics that are in my motherboard. But my monitors are one different resolutions, with one being a square one (I don't even know the model name of it) and my other primary one being a 1080p monitor.
So a few questions
1) does having 2 drastically different computer monitor resolutions have a big impact on performance? And if so would it be better for me to just play with 1 until I get a better one
2) any good GPU recommendations that deliver good performance and won't break the bank?
Thanks guys!!
My only 2 cents in this thread are this
First off, if you want to use dumb loadouts, there are plenty of pub servers that you can join to do that to your heart's content.
Second, it is somewhat disrespectful (at least how I perceive it) when an opponent decides to use a joke loadout. 6s demoknight isn't and should never be a thing, no matter how bad a certain member(s) are on the other team. All you're really doing is wasting people's time that some may be using to try and get better.
Lastly, the admins rules are what they are. Sure, there are parts where you don't see eye to eye, but if you agree to the terms and conditions, you must be willing to face the consequences if they are broken. And for future reference, making an admin angry is one of the fastest ways to end up in a situation like this.
I rest my case.
Antaresi don't understand why people are whining about the loose cannon when theres TWO of these running around
https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/thumb/6/69/Scout.png/250px-Scout.png?t=20140412094156
And should you have the loose cannon equipped, good luck in a 1v1 vs a scout. You're probably going to see the respawn timer in the near future. Given that you're only using it and not stickies to try and defend yourself
sage78Caspiandirectx 9 came out in 2003I believe Valve doesn't like directx 12 much tho and are putting their faith in Vulkan (OpenGL successor)
maybe that post would make sense if directx 11 or 12 were the requirement
DirectX 11 would be neat tho since most people dont have Win10 to use dx12 anyway
I think the question is, is DX11 more cpu and gpu efficient, given that it's more recent? I don't know so that's why I'm asking
My thoughts on a lot of this
to an extent, I'm not sure if it'd be easier for valve to make tf3 with updated particles, an entirely competitive game, and port it to source 2 than keep up with all this tech from the early 2000s that's extremely inefficient performance wise for computers. We can keep all of our nice weapons and hats, which transfer between games, but don't try and keep stacking onto the original foundation of something as old as tf2. You can call it "csgo-ifying" it, but the reason csgo is so successful is because of its competitive community. I feel that if we could "start over" with a nice new game that looks fantastic when optimized at a tv show quality in 60 fps, it looks so much more appealing to someone that doesn't know about the game or the comp scene and can potentially get them into, at the very least, watching the game.
Air_didn't it get confirmed that tf2 wasn't getting a source2 port?
From what I've heard, tf2 isn't going to be ported to source 2
deetrI really don't think Valve would manage to not fuck up a source 2 port even if this is real. Movement would probably be broken
Get ready to hold w through the air, folks
I think that until the double donk success rate per loose cannon shot gets absurdly high (don't ask me what percentage we should be looking for), it should be allowed. But I also stand by my suggested change of changing the double donk to 130 damage and initial impact to 65 since it wont put it in the category associated with the sun on a stick. There's only one other class that can really move other classes around as easily as the loose cannon cannonballs, and we already know how a certain froyotech member feels about that. Also, it's somewhat possible but not exactly the safest to slow down an uber with a well placed ground sticky trap
TL:DR - apply the changes I suggested but keep it allowed because it allows demo to be a defensive class that has the ability to delay ubers. Stickies already have this ability, but it's not as consistent as shooting cannonballs into a bunch of shiny people.
Edit: probably going to get -frags for this, but long live double donks.
lootmessiahremember when EU was vanilla?
can we do that with the NA scene that would be neat wouldn't it????
Funboats, escape plan, crossbow and boston basher are far too engrained in the meta now
He's right. Shotgun pocket (to an extent) is basically a thing of the past in today's meta. And shotgun roamer is like prehistoric thinking. Pretty sure we invented the wheel at about the same time this was popular
SetletInstead of banning or nerfing the loose cannon, nerf the scout so demomen could actually be more aggressive and use pipes instead.
2 birds with one stone
wouldn't mind that. maybe 5-10 less damage for scatterguns at point blank to moderately far distance?
Sideshowloch n load is impossible to dodge, easy 300 damage whenever you pull it out and you can spam chokes from miles away. Silly weapon due to the range more than anything, you can spam badlands choke from your own train effectively.
didn't really see it in that way actually. probably cause I never used the loch n load even when it was broken.
KonceptLegacya) the hitbox is smaller
b) you can hear the sound of the charge from the weapon if you're a decent range away from it. Not loud enough like a minigun, but (maybe) slightly softer than the beep of a sentry gun that isn't firing
c) the double donk doesn't do minicrit damage on the second hit, but changing the base damage on impact to 65, making a double donk do 130 damage. It's enough to kill a non buffed scout but It's a little more forgiving to all the precious medics in the world
what about the changes I suggested? I don't think it'd be too brutal like the post smissmas 2014 tide turner nerf and it wouldn't remain as "OP" as it's pictured now
I know there probably should be another thread for this, but I think that if we bad the loose cannon we should unban the loch n load. Iron bomber isn't exactly the best because I'd the lack of rolling after it hits the ground, and that basically leaves demos with only the booties (which I actually like in certain situations), the stock pipes, and the backpack parachute.
Or if you're opposed to everything that I just said, change the loose cannon so that
a) the hitbox is smaller
b) you can hear the sound of the charge from the weapon if you're a decent range away from it. Not loud enough like a minigun, but (maybe) slightly softer than the beep of a sentry gun that isn't firing
c) the double donk doesn't do minicrit damage on the second hit, but changing the base damage on impact to 65, making a double donk do 130 damage. It's enough to kill a non buffed scout but It's a little more forgiving to all the precious medics in the world
I feel like those 3 changes would be enough to make a lot of people less angry about the loose cannon in general. Thoughts?
