#6 Reasons to join a team instead of pugging/DMing in TF2 General Discussion

in pugs people don't always take things incredibly seriously

plus in lower level pugs you can just out DM most people, where in real matches you can't do that to the extent that you can in pugs (depending on the level that you're playing at obviously)

also just straight DM can lead to incredibly bad habits, like relying on just killing mindlessly and being able to continue a spree since you get health back on a kill

#1 Corsair Harpoon Gaming Mouse in Hardware

http://www.corsair.com/en/harpoon-rgb-gaming-mouse

From what I've read this is a new release from Corsair which is retailing for $30 US dollars, which is one of the reasons why it caught my eye.

However considering the big names that are already competing in the gaming mouse market (Razer, Steelseries, Zowie, and Logitech to name some), I'm really curious how this will stack up against its competition.

Sensor is a Pixart PMW 3320 optical sensor (source), and is fairly light at 85 grams. The mouse also works with the CUE software, although I'm not entirely sure if DPI can be adjusted, as the source that I got the sensor info from also stated that the 5 DPI steps were 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, and 6000, which had me scratching my head as to why the defaults would be set to this. However, if this is changeable within the CUE software, then it's not as big of a deal as I may be making of it.

Thoughts?

GentlemanJonKonceptFirst off, explain how we're not a global power. I'd agree that we're not number one anymore, but we're certainly still a global power. Russia and China certainly have us beat, but afaik we're the country that follows suit behind them. I have read some stupid shit in this thread, much of which probably deserves ire more than this post so sorry Koncept, but this one just flies in the face of any objective evidence. The US is by far the most powerful country in the world by almost any meaningful measure, militarily, culturally, financially. In comparison to preceding decades you have literally no major competitors.

Moscow has peacefully ceded control over 100s of millions of people in eastern Europe in the last 20+ years, it's a shadow of it's former self. Their recently rediscovered taste for military adventurism is nothing to do with receding US power.

China is America's workshop.

Wall Street dominates global finance, the US military is globally unquestionably supreme, US cultural exports are ubiquitous around the world. I find worries about the American position in the world to be bizarre. America calls the tune globally in a much more decisive way than it did during the cold war.

Fair enough. I'll certainly admit I was wrong in this sense, but I do feel like we haven't been progressing forward as much as we have in the past, presumably since Obama did a lot of stuff in the realm of foreign affairs.

TERRYCREWSKonceptNext, explain how we would control China with "political and economic leverage" when they are our biggest rival. As far as I'm aware, a lot of products are being made by the Chinese because they can produce it for cheaper and all we have to do is cover shipping costs. But those jobs could easily be occupied by our own workers. Rebuild some factories and improve our highways and roads (which doing that puts people to work), and then there's a likely competition of who can produce better products.
I'm not a big fan of this argument. It makes sense, but you gotta also realize that in the near future AI and automation are gonna wipe out jobs much much more than illegal immigrants or whatever. Same thing has happened in the past:

- Factories used to be located in cities, up until developments in transportation/shipping allowed for cheaper prices by moving the factories into rural areas. Back then it was the rural people taking the jobs from the city folk, now it's China.
- The jobs left after automation takes over the simple workforce are all gonna require training, complexity that AI can't deal with (at least in the near future). Which basically means the uneducated/unskilled are fucked over either way, immigrant, chinese or not.
Sure, anti globalism is a good short term solution, but the issue at hand is really that technology is gonna fuck over cheap unskilled labor orders of magnitude more than global competitors

Fair enough. I didn't think much of AI initially but it does eliminate the "human error" element in production.

But I do feel that there is some place where the educated and unskilled here. Personally, I think that the rebuilding of our roads could be a fantastic place to start, since we don't have the machinery yet to fully automate the process available on a mass scale.

I remember I met a guy a few semesters ago that was in his late 40s and worked basically as the cleaner of stuff that went wrong, his biggest and most recent project being the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. However, it was after a disaster so it's not exactly like these kinds of people are needed 24/7 around the country.

#3933 HUD editing: short questions, quick answers in Customization
HamHeadHow do I change TargetID health numbers to blue when they're overhealed?
http://i.imgur.com/A5T5YlU.png

inside your hudanimations file, look for "event HudHealthBonusPulse"

Then, add this line in

Animate PlayerStatusHealthValueSpec	FgColor	"0 0 255 255"	Linear 0.0	0.01

Also be sure that within another event, "HudHealthBonusPulseStop ", that you have the PlayerStatusHealthValueSpec field return to the original color that it was.

Example:

event HudHealthBonusPulseStop
{
Animate PlayerStatusHealthValue FgColor "255 255 255 255" Linear 0.0 0.1
StopEvent HudHealthBonusPulse 0.0
StopEvent HudHealthBonusPulseLoop 0.0
}

eee>Oh how is that bad

America is always going to be beholden to the interests of other countries because we live in a global economy. Fighting globalization only retards America's ability to establish itself as a global power. You can have 20 years of ignoring China now or you can have America be able to control China with political and economic leverage.

First off, explain how we're not a global power. I'd agree that we're not number one anymore, but we're certainly still a global power. Russia and China certainly have us beat, but afaik we're the country that follows suit behind them. Also just "ignoring" China gives them 20 years to advance their way of production, while we're still stuck 20+ years behind if we even can contend with them at the end of those 20 years.

Next, explain how we would control China with "political and economic leverage" when they are our biggest rival. As far as I'm aware, a lot of products are being made by the Chinese because they can produce it for cheaper and all we have to do is cover shipping costs. But those jobs could easily be occupied by our own workers. Rebuild some factories and improve our highways and roads (which doing that puts people to work), and then there's a likely competition of who can produce better products.

eee> He is in favor of extreme vetting and possibly a temporary immigration ban on people from terrorist prone countries

Which is a limit on religious freedom. He also wants to create a network that monitors domestic Muslims.

So, something that's intended to keep you and I safe, is a limit on religious freedom? Not really getting your logic here.

edit: I know I was late but sorry was busy typing nerd essay on this

edit2: just adding this since I don't want to make another post

eee>. All Trump wants to do is separate those who supporter or sympathize with ISIS and similar terrorist groups from those that do not

and datamine anyone in the US who is a Muslim

The safety of the people should never be compromised when there is a legitimate threat whose views are extremist and anti-western. Am I saying all Muslims are terrorists? Of course not. Trump himself has said that but all that's been put on propaganda is "no more Muslims".

Ok, people criticized me what is your point??? For so long, people called you low open and said you have a huge ego and to this day you call me retarded and shittalk when you lose to me in mge, and not to mention the fact you laugh at players much much better than you.

the difference between myself and you is that when i had a big big ego i had fucking hard critiscism and got shit on and then took a step back and have been actively trying to improve myself since. You got fair to mild critiscism, threw a bitch fit, and learned nothing. I also don't laugh at players better than me, however i wont deny that there are people better than me that i don't like. that being said i think this goes for everyone. Also we go pretty even with each other in mge :P also i tried you out on a real team with real players who are at a mid-high open level right now and you completely threw the tryout with meme loadouts and constant offclassing.

I remember this since I played with both of you at that time, and to be quite honest it was incredibly frustrating because I knew your potential mute, yet you didn't seem to want to harness it.

I would have no problem believing that now you want to get better, and honestly I haven't seen either you or slice play in 4-5 months to see how far both of you have come, obviously since I've been inactive due to school. But I would hope that both of you have made efforts to get better.

I hope that you find a good team mute, and that you keep working hard to get better.

TERRYCREWSa hypothetical if Clinton won, what would Trump supporters do?

Without a doubt there would be angry people on the right, and surely there would be protests. That was honestly bound to happen given the candidates that we were given. Had different candidates been selected, this would have been a completely different story, but hypotheticals about the past are meaningless at this point.

Now there would have certainly been someone (or some people) that would have ended up getting so upset that they decided to go out and riot against the results. In today's political atmosphere, it would have been bound to happen. I'm all for peaceful protesting, since it's a part of the first amendment. But those who are so incapable of accepting the reality of things as they appear are, unfortunately, the problem.

I'm actually thinking of writing a nerd essay later about a theory that my history prof my freshman year gave to my history class about the general political leaning of America, and it's a rather interesting one considering how he used the party affiliations and leanings of our past presidents to make his claim. I can't do it now since I have homework to finish but I might afterwards if I'm feeling up to it

urfavYea, still having trouble. I move it up from 50 to 51, goes to far the either side. tried using decimals they dont seem to work

my only other suggestion would be to try fiddling with an xpos change and them adjusting the wide values, assuming that your ypos value is where you want it to be
