emperorI'm interested to know the thought process of why someone would add up on a class that they actually don't want to play.

I looked through some of my recent games and while I'm not 100% positive this was the one I wanted to find it probably is. I don't remember the exact picking process but I think it was something like: delpo added to med and captain to get the pug going. He was designated as med because he was one of the only two meds. But then some of his bros on the team were like "naaaaah we're not gonna make delpo play med, haha!" and they swapped around. It was pretty annoying and I'd say it had a profound impact on the pug.

#5 ALT-F-X LFT MED in Recruitment (looking for team)

Alt is a good med and a great guy. aZn wanted to play med this season so that's why Alt is LFT (kind of a poopy reason to be "cut" but that's the honest truth). If it weren't for that we'd still be playing with Alt right now. When we first picked Alt up he was a bit rusty but he quickly shook it off and performed well all season. He listens and takes feedback very well and he contributes a lot to any discussion. It's true that he's not much of a main caller but his supplementary calls regarding medic stuff are really on point and that's the most important thing. His movement is solid and he's clutched many a moment for us with great saws and arrows. Alt is mature, smart, punctual, responsible and just a great friend to talk to in mumble. A weakness is occasional inconsistency in mechanics but he's been playing a bit more soldier lately and if he keeps it up that will in time mitigate most issues. Another negative is that Alt can sort of tilt a little bit when things aren't going well and after a certain amount of dissapointment and frustration it will cause him to play worse. He doesn't get loud or angry just deeply dissapointed and stern in tone towards his crew. But hey in my book medics are allowed to vent a bit as there's lots of situations where they personally can't do much to change them. All the issues are minor and rare and since Alt is a self-aware adult who cares about his team he can fix them.

He's dedicated, driven, and a great person to be around. Please get him some good tryouts.

#4 KnK med LFT open in Recruitment (looking for team)

I've pugged with knk a bunch and at first dismissed him as pretty bad but he has improved and grown on me. He keeps steadily improving and definitely has some great moves and can even play fragging classes a bit (sign of a good medic). He's a super nice guy and his English is pretty good. The higher ping doesn't seem to bother him at all. Please give him a shot on your team!

#20 Percy LFT Scout S21 in Recruitment (looking for team)

I've been trialing scouts for my team lately and gave Percy a shot. Of all the up and coming names we've tried Percy is the one the fewest people will have heard of but she impressed me the most. She has very limited experience and has taken a season off but did a bunch of work on individual improvement during that time and it shows. Could use to comm a bit more but played a very tight combo scout--was actually around to protect med and take ubers. Percy was focused, listened to calls, and made a lot of smart decisions without direction too. Remains a great sniper as well. This is a dedicated gamer who deserves a great open team!

Good dm and insane movement with the most thorough winger abuse I've ever witnessed. Will make enemy soldiers and demos want to break down and weep.

#14 Open lfp Demo S22 in Recruitment (looking for players)

Played with them and they are all really good and cool. Bwelp is a sick scout and space is insane on sniper. Neo and faust are strong soldiers. Redi is smart and has really impressive survivability. Sail was really strong too. Neo is way more impactful on soldier-- get them a demoman! This team will play at the top of open.

#7 NAB LF Pocket S22 IM in Recruitment (looking for players)

They're all really nice and cool folks and are steadily improving. Bacon definitely impressed me more each time we scrimmed the few times we did this season and that's great to see. Differ remains an awesome leader and captain. Morin's a great guy and a good caller but I feel like his personal soldier ability hasn't grown as much as the rest of his team around him has. I really hope you guys are able to find a smart, beefy, vocal pocket who could round out the roster and help you guys advance even more....but that's really hard to do. People with all the right skillsets for pocket are few and far between. If after a while you aren't having luck with tryouts you should definitely consider trying meds and letting Differ take the lead from pocket. There will be some lack of experience to make up for at first and it won't be easy but if there's anyone that I know has what it takes it's Differ.

#150 We need to talk about the booties in TF2 General Discussion

A very slight nerf could be making the speed bonus apply only when melee is out. This would make the player have to be a bit busier with weapon switches to utilize the speed if they weren't using the booties to be a demoknight. In many ways though it wouldn't change much during non-fighting moments and would be like counterstrike (run faster with knife out).

#19 Neo lft in Recruitment (looking for team)

I'm not sure what Neo's done to anyone else but to me and my gamers he's been nothing but chill and nice. Maybe once or twice he was mildly annoyingly silly but generally he's great to hang out with in mumble, as well as to play with. I don't know how I'd rank him on his demo play, maybe "often unremarkable", but he's significantly stonger and more impactful on the soldier class. This past season aZn's schedule went from bad to worse, with him only being able to play 3 of 5 nights a week. Finding pocket ringers is difficult and finding good ones is nearly impossible. One night we ended up trying Neo as a pocket ringer and overall I'd say he was the best pocket sub we used all season. He was the closest person to being able to fill aZn's shoes: His dm is good and he does good damage and he talks and calls, helping to organize and coordinate the team. That last part is particularly rare and why there's so few (good) pocket soldiers out there. People either can't talk and fight or just don't know what to say, showing huge gaps in gamesense and understanding. This dude understands the game well, could play any class/role based off that, and it makes him a valuable gamer. I don't think low-mid IM is a stretch for him with the way skill is spread these days. I highly recommend trying Neo out and I particularlly recommend him on pocket soldier since he has the tools that so few others have to do that in-demand job well.
