These win conditions are good but nobody is used to it and tons of people don't know that's how it works (and some funny things have happened because of this) so I wish there was somewhere that it was very prominently displayed so people were aware.

#1 Looking for IM Pocket in Recruitment (looking for players)

Team Mutual Consent (now Ziggurat Complex) is looking for a pocket soldier. The team is somewhere in the realm of mid-IM probably. Real life sucks. Unfortunately aZn's work schedule currently has him gone 2 of our nights we play and while we may just end up doing that and going to a light scrim schedule and keeping aZn, at least for now, we want to see if there's someone out there that would fit the team and our normal schedule.

We normally play Sun - Thurs 930 - 11 ish EST

medic: ALT-F-X
pocket: aZn
roamer: ry4n
scout: Vari
scout: catface
demoman: Jaguar

Team: https://play.esea.net/teams/91668

Add me to talk: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197971152439/

Thanks

#17 neeko lft scout in Recruitment (looking for team)

Really nice guy and a good scout. He played very smart and had good contribution to comms (something a lot of scouts suck at).He has a lot of previous experience and it shows in his play. His dm may have been a bit rusty but then again I watched him go absolutely ham a number of times. We chose to play with another scout by a narrow margin which was due to no fault of neeko. Please get this dude a starter spot that is at least on a top open team, though he could definitely also play in today's IM.

#13 so, yea, quickie bomb launcher in TF2 General Discussion

Though I've had next to no experience with quickiebombs in actual 6v6 I don't like where the weapon is at right now. The stickybomb launcher is one of the most powerful and vertasile weapons in the game and its weaknesses like arm time, charge time, and difficulties of multivariable aligning of arm time, charge time, and the projectile arch are important in keeping the weapon specialized and often difficult item to use in direct combat. Even then there's tons of situations where it's very easy (LOL STICKIES) despite its downsides and when we play we are constantly searching for such advantageous situations.

The quickiebomb launcher takes away these important shortcomings and leaves you with a much easier (even easier) to use weapon for direct fighting without giving it serious shortcomings. Only 2 less shots and 15% less damage? I'm not sure what would help balance it but maybe only 4 max loaded shots or even more of a damage reduction. Also it should NOT be able to destroy enemy sticky bombs. It does not need any more strengths. The scottish resistance is the ultra specialized weapon that needs that ability to give it more perks and uses outside of extreme defensiveness. What is the main benefit of the normal stickybomb launcher over quickiebombs right now? That you can set traps. But the quickie can remove those traps. It removes the best strength of the alternatives while remaining better head to head in direct fighting. I don't think this is good design. Finally the most frustrating thing is when you're exchanging stickybomb fire with a demo using the quickie and there's quickie-dets going on around you and your own munitions get destroyed the instant they leave your barrel. Sometimes it feels like you never even fired because of lag or something. You did, it just got deleted instantly mid-air. It's ok for the ScoRes to do this because it takes a good deal of planning and pre-setup but right now vs. quickie it almost feels like like firing at an engineer with the short circuit out.

While I'm writing all this I think the Scottosh Resistance could use a tiny buff. I think maybe that when you're not looking at and highlighting any cluster of the sticks that you laid it should just detonate all deployed traps.

TL;DR - I think quickiebombs are very powerful- a bit too much. If they were allowed right now in their current state we'd quickly see them become the main go-to stick launcher.

#30 New Tribes Ascend in Other Games

I love this series and this game. I logged in some weeks ago to play around, maybe dm a bit like I used to, but the game seemed really dead sadly. There was only a few servers, one being some CTF one with very few people. I joined and most of those guys were super duper good so that was pretty demoralizing. I, too, wish this game would undie.

#2 Demo LFT Low Open in Recruitment (looking for team)

I coached arorno last night in a newbie mix. I thought for a moment that i was being fooled and it was somebody alting. I barely had to talk and coach my team as arorno had a constant stream of really good, timely main-calls and did his best to micro people when he could (all from demoman). His dm was consistantly good too. He basically carried the team as much as he could. The mix was a 0-3 loss on snakewater but I think it might have been a 0-5 10 minute loss without his contribution, both personally and in organizing the team.

I then learned that arorno is or is planning to play in UGC-Iron. ??? Please, no. This dude is super smart, eager to be challenged, and just full of serious potential. He also has comms and leadership beyond what most people can get, newbie or not. This dude impressed the hell out of me and if you're going to be playing this coming season in ESEA-Open you really should give him a tryout!

#13 syath lft in Recruitment (looking for team)

Pros: Very strong soldier and scout. Good dm and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. He used to pocket and from what I recall can be very vocal. / We've always been on very good terms so from my experience he's a really nice person. Cons: Highlander. / Seems like a huge weeb.

I haven't spent much time with him so I can't speak to why his teams seem to have stability problems lately and whether any of that is his doing. He does big work though so please give him a shot.

Consistently good demo. EPS sort of faltered a bit in their last game but DC was playing his heart out and personally doing very well imo. Good luck dude.

#18 Griff lft season 21 in Recruitment (looking for team)

I played with griffulz a good while ago. When he's focused he can be a very good pocket soldier. I can see him getting back into the groove of things quickly and comfortably playing high open or lower IM. Sometimes he was a bit inconsistant but overall very solid and dependable. He had really good calls and did a lot in helping to organize the team and keep everyone on the same page and moving together. Some of his other noteworthy experience includes some strong play in arena shooters (Quake/Reflex) duels and some other games too. Though griff's always been an acquired taste with his unique blend of charm/annoyingness it wasn't too long ago that he sort of went off the deep end to the max with his personality and pissed a lot of people off (myself included). It seems like he's gotten himself back in order now so I gotta say do give him a shot. He's always had big potential and still does.

#270 PARIS TERRORIST ATTACK in Off Topic
valkeriSocialiteWhy do you keep asking the same question and ignoring replies? :>
I think what dr said is even a better reply to this question.
I believe that I have given clear reasons as to why we can't accept that society gives us our standard for morality. Therefore, if not society then what?

You're basically implying here that morality is objective but it is not. It is subjective and fluid and changes with times. We'd like to believe that over time in society we become more fair and more just and moral by ways of philosophic reasoning, empathy, etc and overall I do think that's the case. DrShadowPuppet briefly mentioned something very important: Many behaviors that we deem moral/amoral can be simplified down to very basic animalistic roots and be explained with natural selection and THAT is the closest we can come to objective morality as we all currently occupy this same, one earth.
