#8 I sleep too much and want it to stop. in Off Topic

I think you should sleep right after you come from work. That way you will sleep until like lunch time and be able to seize the entire afternoon (get some sunlight) yes being able to get sun on your skin is very important, if you close yourself too much without seeing daylight you will start to get depressed very fast. And still being able to be up at noon when it's prime time for everyone. That's my tip for the schedule

Now other thing. I would strongly advise against a louder alarm clock. I had the fuckin loudest alarm clock ever when I went to uni and it resulted in me raging and turning it off every time and miss classes. Not good. Now I have a pretty normal mobile phone alarm (just make sure to set at least 2 different alarms if the 1st doesn't wake me up) and I get up every day in time.

About sleeping too much I can't help you, I have the opposite problem, I started working a few months ago and my main problem is sleeping too little, like 5 hours a day, which leaves me the entire day ruined. I really need to start getting some 7-8 sleep hours a day

#6 Skipping Ticks in TF2 General Discussion

I have an i7 and I cannot skip more than 5000 ticks at a time or the game will crash. And yes I have tried every mat_queue_mode setting

#212 Comp.tf - A competitive tf2 wiki? in Projects

I have installed an extension to keep track of the top contributors, hope this gives you some motivation to keep contributing.

Keep in mind this will help decide our winner of the contest of the member of the month of august, it won't be only this but your volume of contributions will matter, as well as quality of course.

http://comp.tf/wiki/Special:ContributionScores

Also we have add a traffic spike since the cup and the contests were announced, doing just what we wanted which is to further promote the wiki.

There's now an official page for the tournament on the wiki.
This will always be the most updated page with rules. It is also linked on the wiki main page

Mr_PerfectWhat if I backed up for an ESEA team?

Read the rules, as I said there are specific cases in which a team might be accepted even against the rules, just state your position in the additional notes on the sign up form and we will review your case

I will work on a system (possibly using google forms) tomorrow for people that are searching for a team to come together. I can't do it now as I intended because Its quite late.

shredderThis sounds amazing Kaneco! Noona and I will be sure to plug it in Newbie Mixes in the upcoming weeks.

Thanks! :)
Please do, I'm not very familiar with the NA "newbie scene" as in where they start and which groups they regularly play with, so some help from the inside would definitely help!

shredderAlso, I'd be willing to cast any games that aren't already being casted by higher-profile people (cbear, ruwin, etc.). Perhaps we could have real casters cast the big games (semis, finals), and have newbie casters cast the early games? That way there is still motivation to play and win, but teams that don't make it too far can still have the experience of listening to someone talk about their game.

Will keep it in mind! I haven't had the time to talk to casting organizations yet but I will get to it. We still have 3 weeks left so that's plenty of time.

smoboIf someone wants to create some sort of "bounty" on which pages are important (or just message me?) but need serious additions/rewrites, that'd be nice. The missing content page is... missing its content.

Also we just reached 300 members on our steam group! Thanks everyone! but I think we can do much more than this, join our group and invite your friend if you feel like helping out!

Updated rules

Need to know which timezone the NA scene usually goes by, and if you prefer a single elimination tournament or a double elimination tournament.

Rules:

No maximum sign-ups

Sign Ups close:
-> 17th August 23:59 GMT

Player Restrictions:
-> No ESEA experience
-> No ETF2L experience above div6
-> Maximum of 1 season ETF2L experience on div6, and can't have placed above mid-table
-> Maximum of 1 season UGC experience on Iron 6v6 maximum
-> Maximum of 1 season experience on any other leagues on the lowest 6v6 division of that league (ex: wireplay, etc...)

Teams are allowed MAX 1 player per team with:
-> ESEA experience (maximum Open)
-> ETF2L experience on div6 for more than 1 season or placed above mid table
-> UGC experience on Steel division

Rulesets, configs and maplist:
NA tournament will use ESEA S14 ruleset and maplist
EU tournament will use ETF2L S15 ruleset and maplist

Any teams that do not obey these requisites will be scraped from the cup

(I am flexible to these rules arrangements, if you want to discuss or negotiate state in your notes comment why do you think you should be able to play)

This is to ensure this really stays a newbie-only cup and it's not ruined by people carrying. Any teams that have experienced players that do not obey the requisites playing or in alts will be disqualified when found. Even if it happens mid-tournament
(ex: div2 players on alt account playing in the cup is not acceptable)

I don't know at what time you americans usually center your league matches, because there are so many timezones, can someone tell me?

KevinIsPwnHow many backups are allowed, if any?

No limit set, and I dont see the need to set one atm, as long as you dont give me link me 15 team members for a 6v6 team. Backups should also abide the newbie players restrictions

#115 i46 documentary in TF2 General Discussion
LuckyLukeI am :) Actually since like one month after i46, so that was kinda a big change for me personally breaking away from school to work (from home), took some getting used to which probably ended up slowing this down too...

Wow, tf2 has probably played a big part in your professional path choice, or were you already decided to go with filmmaking before starting to work on tf2 movies? Whatever it is, I am really happy for you man, glad its working out and that it's something you like to do.

MemphisVonOMFG! First 7 minutes of documentary leaked!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0

The cycle begins... Next step is those youtube videos full of anotations leading to a completely legit russian site and finally it ends up on pirate bay 1 week before the release on [CAM] format.
