#14 ESEA & ETF2L Fragshows in TF2 General Discussion

Dude, your videos are amazing, already saw the etf2l one, but the esea and even your team fragmovier were awesome! Wish I could pull that off! Music was amazing as well!

The synch on 1 b4nny clip blew my mind.

Keep doing what you're doing!

#38 HRG LAN Fundraiser in TF2 General Discussion

My issue here is that if there's a privileged team in the whole tf2 scene that's your team, you guys are going to europe with full expenses paid by the community, you are going to lan as 1st seeding and favorites to win, possibly making a profit (even if it is to pay for your extra week in england), you have won last season as well. If there's a single team making a profit in the scene then that's your team. Even scraping the money issue altogether you are the most glorified team in the whole competitive tf2 currently. If you had decent planing you would have streamed your scrims at least or uploaded handpicked vods to an official youtube channel and ask for the community support through donations (see: infused, broder, iM, etc...), you could have just involved with the community and contributed to it as a whole so much more.

It's simply not fair for teams in worse situations than you guys to take advantage of your status as a super team to ask for support with nothing in return (I get it you are offering perks to donators, but it would have made much more sense if you had put out some content while the season was still going on).

I'm not donating because I already donated for YOUR i49 fundraiser, and the broder fundraiser, and I'm just a poor college kid trying to make it at the end of the month.

#60 Comp.tf Newbie-Only 6v6 Cup and Wiki Contests in TF2 General Discussion
thesupremecommanderWell, it depends. If you absolutely want to be there since you're the organizer and all, the timing should definitely accommodate you, but if it's just some responsibilities you have with running the cup, you could find people to help you get the critical things done. I certainly wouldn't mind lending you my help if you needed it.

certainly wouldn't mind help. But I feel the need to be present, as I also want to learn how all of this works, so for a future cup I already have some bases.

I feel some people are abusing the generosity of our community... Lets all not milk the whole cow right away.

MittensAs a Newbie cup I don't think it'll be affected by the lan. I personally wait for the Youtube version just because I never catch all of it which kind of ruins the experience. Yes you're missing the chat, however whenever I watch a live match the chat is the last thing on my mind because I'm too focused on the game. Maybe that's just me though.
When exactly does the lan begin?
You could try and make the cup a few days earlier.

Its like 3 lans in a row.
The next weekend Im on holidays for the first time this year, the one after is ESEA lan, the one after is i49 lan, the one after that is the Portuguese Community lan, it will be my first time attending and I really wanted to go. So the only option apart from 18th August is september really

I'm not really feeling the new logo

From a promotion point of view it's really much harder to get the url from this logo as straight forward as you did from the old logo. The color gradient and complex shapes also make it pretty damn hard for other kind of promotion tools / resources

#319 i46 documentary in TF2 General Discussion

I mean it's pretty obvious the theme for the i46 documentary will be america vs europe, but think of the possibilities of an i49 documentary, aussies are coming too... We could have kangaroos, dropbears, bald eagles, explosions and drunk irish guys all in the same video.

I seriously hope this is reconsidered. There's still 3 weeks left, more than enough to evaluate the interest in such kind of work and even start crowdfunding it to get equipment / work time paid.

#313 i46 documentary in TF2 General Discussion

I think I'm most worried at the lack of any real content coming out of i49. This is possible the biggest tf2 lan ever, bigger even than i46 and there's no documentary planned, no fragmovie contest, no after movie or after fragmovie, nothing real has been talked about or planned.

thesupremecommanderWell, because of both LANs happening around the same time, it would be preferable to hold it either the weekend before ESEA or the weekend after i49. If you can't do it next week (which would be preferable for me, but I'm not anyone important), the week after i49 would be the best.

It's definitely not best to do it the weekend of any LAN... Newbie Mixes during last season's LAN really got washed out because of it IIRC.

The weekend before it's my only 3 days of real holidays this year :(, the week after i49 is the tf2 portuguese lan which I intend to go and as such won't be available to organize stuff

Maybe thinking about postponing 1 month (15th setember) not sure what that colides with, hopefully won't collide with the start of any season or anything, I was really caught of guard by this

MessyRecipeSeems fairly clear in the updated rules but just to make sure, the UGC Steel+ experience restriction thing is just for 6s right? My team's new to 6s but we've got a few with a few seasons in HL.

Yes, just for 6s but you should write your HL experience in the additional notes area

About the scheduling, should I keep it on 18th august or what you think? I dont want the tournament to be overshadowed by another huge happening in comp tf2

Wouldn't it have been better to crowdfund the documentary on kickstarter from the begining?

I would have more than happily donated, and I will still buy it now, but it would have been much more efficient and productive for everyone if luke got funded from the start and we all knew what we were gonna get / not get from the start

#217 Comp.tf - A competitive tf2 wiki? in Projects

Atlas keeps doing what he knows best.

He worked on a season infobox template to use on specific season pages which you can see in action here
http://comp.tf/wiki/ETF2L_6v6_Season_14

To use it to edit other leagues seasons use the following template

Here's another map page with locations created, this time done by merchant. This template is really neat for map pages
