#1 Comp.tf 1st Ultiduo Cup in TF2 General Discussion

http://i.imgur.com/1zzuffR.png

It's offseason in europe and we're back again with another cup, this time our first Ultiduo cup, for European teams only.

  • All the details can be found here

Buy-in is 2 keys per team, goes entirely to the prizepool.

The event is going to be streamed by us at our twitch channel, with my boy ducky on camera and casters TBA, we will stream from the semi-finals onwards.

We haven't decided on the maps yet, Ultiduo_baloo is almost certain but we would like to rotate maps as the rounds go by, and possibly play more than one map in the finals, if you prefer any specific map, check our Ultiduo page on the wiki which has screens of pretty much all the major ultiduo maps and tell us what you think.

#16 TF2 Update April 24 in TF2 General Discussion
Intellectual- Updated koth_lakeside_event
- Updated koth_lakeside_final
[*]Fixed rock piles to mirror on Red and Blu sides[/list]

This shit was posted on reddit literally this week, meanwhile you still have 4 year old major gameplay bugs, and a demo system outdated as fuck when compared to the other source games.

Yes, I'm mad.

#55 Funding competitive prizepools through items in TF2 General Discussion
freakinWell we'll see if the ToTH hat gets added. If it does, there may be hope.

But if it doesn't, I don't see a purely competitive item being popular enough to get added.

It's not a purely competitive item, a big part of the chance of the item getting in is related to the item quality and idea itself, now if a item was high quality and popular within the workshop, what would be the reason for them not to release it? Do you think they hold a particular grudge against the competitive community?

Same thing for the ToTH item, it's a lot down to the quality and originality of it, but actually I think this one has a few more chances because it's linked to a giant event and it's a charity item and valve has supported charities through tf2 items before

But the bottom line is that there's simply no reason not to try, if we could partner with some talented artists we have as much of a chance to get a item in as anyone else.

This single skin in cs go, almost funded a 20k prizepool. Something to think about after all no?

#4 Remove Killstreaks effects and sounds from tf2 in Videos
omnihuditemeffectmeter_killstreak.res is for the killstreak number that appears on screen for the player. hudkillstreaknotice.res is the hud file that holds the notice that appears in the middle of the screen (name is godlike at 20). I'm not sure how you'd remove the killstreaks from the killfeed however.

And I'm sure if you could find the name of the killstreak sound, you could just replace it in the custom folder with an empty file of the same name.

Appreciated, such a shame that such an obnoxious thing as this is not optional in the game.

So there's really no way to remove the killstreak sound?

#1 Remove Killstreaks effects and sounds from tf2 in Videos

So does anyone know how if it's possible to remove both the killstreak icons in the killfeed as well as the kill streak sound and notice on the screen? Talking about tf2 demos particularly. I am recording some stuff and I really don't like how it looks.

#80 jump_competitive_b1 in Map Discussion

Would love to see the map branching out to more specific jumps. Like a map only with ctap jumps (granary balc to balc, badlands haunter to spire and stone bridge to spire top, etc) for example. It would be great to practise a specific type of jump

#19 Sezco made me decide to post this in TF2 General Discussion

Some people are just oblivious on competitive tf2 and when they do know about it, the entry barrier is simply too big, because the game is a lot different than what they are used to play or because it requires you to put a lot of effort into finding a team, etc...

When I came into competitive I already knew about competitive, I had watched a few streams here and there and played a few lobbies but never took part in any real competition or season.

I was a regular at a pub in my country and one day the community there decided to create a portuguese tf2 league, and what they did was go around on the most frequented pubs and announce it and say they were also creating and accepting solo signups so that you could be put in a team by the admins with other beginners, I went with it, the league was a fail, it didn't even finish, but it was my first tf2 team and real competitive experience on tf2 and from then on I never stopped playing.

I reckon this is one of the most important things, making sure there are constant opportunities for newbies to join our scene, putting them out there so they know they can do it and try to help them climb this entry barrier, whatever way it is.

#50 ETF2L Premiership Grand Final: Made In Germany vs. The Last Resort in Events
WARHURYEAHkaidus TLR is considering quitting, byte is done so it's 2/6. Even if what you described happened (it wouldn't in a million years), those teams would simply fight it out for 2nd place which is pretty dire for anyone interested in watching.
Merilin, zebbo, You, beavern, wltrs, smzi, shadowburn, natural, Kal fucking ho, t-mac, tek, bullet, ryb.

There is a massive list of amazing players that can be the best I know it doesn't just work like that and stuff, but some of these players are massively carrying their teams and could do a lot better.

No love for kiler ? :c

He has carried prem teams for a few seasons already

HallowWhy wouldn't Americans come though? Like the only thing in the way that I can see is no one wanting to organise it, but considering the amount of ambitious people in this community that doesn't seem very likely.

Last years fundraiser was already all planned and undergoing at this point in time (source)

Also adding the drama with esea almost dropping tf2 and all that, Im not sure we will see an international lan if people don't start preparing for it very soon

ArcadeMike, Gear, Knoxxx and Bash have all rejoined Epsilon eSports on ETF2L.

Yay for another stomp boring season. Im glad they are aiming high for i52 but on the other hand I hope some new eu teams emerge to contest the epsilon reign
