someone tested the new FT mechanics.. apparently instead of just checking which hitboxes collide with the target, it rapidly checks if any hitboxes are hitting the target. so while its a lot more consistent, its also a lot more forgiving when it comes to optimizing dps. pretty lame.
ive noticed that if the game updates mid-round it resets your contract progress
BALLS
tbh no idea i havent tried it. i just saved the command when i saw it just in case it happened to me. just give it a shot.
i saw using this as a fix on reddit:
-force_vendor_id 0x10DE -force_device_id 0x1180
BarryChucklePessimistic prediction: jetpack bombs from overhealed pyros who are good at airblasting will be too too difficult to defend against, as any airshot attempts will involve a huge risk of the pyro dropping your med with minicrits. Community will suggest "reflects do not minicrit while airborne" stat for all flamethrowers. Despite it being a relatively small change to implement, Valve will not rebalance for several months leading to jetpack being banned in 6v6 and we all end up back to square one.
shotgun will rise again
in all seriousness though, its a weapon that has to be switched to, used, and then has a holster time of over a second, so i feel like in practice youd have a pretty good window to take them down most of the time.
the higher force is pretty much necessary since theyre factoring in speed of the target. like right now its strength is based around how it stuns the target. but after this change youd have to account for the speed of someone walking at you or the pyro backing away. if it kept the same force then itd struggle to push players back much at all under pretty common circumstances.
that new flamethrower design sounds sick tbh. hopefully its not too overtuned.
lots of good stuff. no hitbox changes yet though unfortunately .
i mean youd have more hp too. and anarki/slash/nyx are pretty much right behind sorlag in viability so id imagine theyd see the fewest buffs. they did also say theyll at least nerf sorlags spit though btw.
stack sizes in qc are much lower than older quakes to begin with anyway and i think buffing them across the board could be a good thing
they also said they were gonna be changing the hitboxes from bone-aligned shapes (like cs) to static ones that encase the whole model (like older quakes), so the light characters should be much easier to hit later.
DarkNecridThe whole point of having paid sign ups is to defray the amount of money you have to personally spend, so while all $2,000 of the first season's prize pool was his money he is using the sign-ups from the first season to off-set the amount put in this season, whose sign-ups will further off-set the amount invested in Season 3, etc. Eventually (if it is successful enough) he shouldn't have to spend much to do a season.
unfortunately unless hes generating some additional revenue besides signups its still a pretty significant hit on his part. while i cant seem to find numbers anymore, just from his comments about paid players and what i could see from the rosters, it looked like maybe $2.3-2.5k in from team and player fees; despite a 4k payout. no clue what he may be making or losing on any other part of this though. even if he sees decent growth id imagine take a few seasons before this stops being a major loss.
for real try cleaning your computers guts if you havent yet. you could just be overheating.
i know its kinda archaic at this point since it doesnt do basic music streaming but i still use pandora for online radio if that counts
Elpis is a 3rd party app for it thats really lightweight and skips all the ads automatically. it you literally cant afford anything then id recommend it.
Under 25 youre not gonna get anything great in terms of build/sound quality
Jvc marshmallows were my favorite at that price point
all that tldr does for me is make me wonder how he stretched that out over 80 minutes
