speedyif its allowed then why not take advantage of it
cuz nearly everyone good enough and willing to coach a top level team is too busy playing. kaidus would be too if not for his wrist.
Nub_DanishkawaPeople want something where they can hop in and get carried, where they don't have to learn anything to do well.if this were the mentality why is support the least played role?
That's why starcraft and quake are dead, and cs and dota aren't growing anymore.
cuz it doesnt actually help all that much. its less about being unable to aim and more about just being able to win/help despite not knowing shit. supports almost always need a decent amount of metagame knowledge to do well, and when they dont they just bait the shit out of their team and accomplish nothing. but a new player could easily pick soldier, +forward into their team, spam rockets and die and people could play off that damage.
id prefer a new A/D map to gpit. the fact that a valve map that released with the game 9 years ago remains the best A/D map for competitive is a travesty in itself. the whole split A & B design is pretty bad too honestly (at least for 6s).
unfortunately theres not enough drive for A/D for anyone to even bother putting the effort into making an A/D map since theres a good chance itll go to waste.
mousiopeit would be a good idea to periodically change the whitelist if there were actual changes to the weapons made by valve ...
but nothing has changed since the last time, yet here we are again discussing it ...
well it also gives people the chance to go back on changes made in the previous list now that the meta is more or less settled.
A lot of bans are worth relooking at just because the ruleset/game/meta is different (E.g. sandvich used to heal heavy when he tossed it to the ground, minisentries were banned back when 2 engies were allowed and gravelpit was in rotation, the battalions backup used to build via damage taken).
Reviewing the whitelist used to be done regularly for esea but was stopped for a bit. And while im not a fan of unbanning unfun stuff just because they might not be overpowered, i think its a good idea to vote on whitelist changes periodically for the sake of trying to make the game more enjoyable.
nah with BJ you just get really high with walljumps and spam while taking zero damage
dalakos bar can almost definitely be unbanned because iirc it was only on the list cuz of the bug that let you keep the health buff. its pretty much outclassed by the sandwich.
i used to get that exact thing with -nod3d9ex in my launch options. idk if anything else causes it though.
someone on /vp/ tested unaware and eviolite and they still functioned like the old one so those might be a description error
they halved the damage burn does too which is great
tbh im pretty cool with rocks since even though its strong theres still plenty of depth to the hazard game, and theres a lot of viable ways to deal with it since xy. also theres something to be said for mechanics with zero RNG involved.
more importantly they nerfed tackle.
theres a lot of functions (resupply/loadouts, engie building, spy disguises, etc) that can done waaaay more efficiently with scripts. imo the more powerful ones should be rolled into official control options.
Youre capped to 8 drops a week so getting crafting fuel takes a while
right now a player can buy a key and then trade them out for all functional weapons and still have half the worth of the key in metal left over
aside from the initial purpose, the only thing holding people back from doing that is just not knowing how, which is pretty disingenuous of valve when weapons sell for like 1-5 dollars in the store.
i dont think that actually removing the whole drop system is much of an option at this point. theyve existed for too long. i think the store and crafting system deserve a price overhaul at this point though. and an "ultimate starter pack" with all the weapons would probably leave me less disappointed for anyone who ignorantly just buys a weapon theyre interested in. Maybe bundle it with the competitive pass as well once thats not a mess.
it lessens the penalty for dying in exchange for making it easier to die. it doesnt reward skill because it offers zero benefits except when the player fails. its strong enough to be mandatory but pretty much offers nothing conducive to fun beyond a cool taunt.
im pretty sure the vita was never really tested, or at the very least definitely not enough for any sort of meta to settle. everyone was way more okay with banning stuff solely for the fun factor back then. and you dont need to be a rocket scientist to determine that a weapon which gives more frequent uber stalemates, slightly frailer medics, and no ubersaw plays doesnt really bring anything exciting to the table.
it got some of the early updates, so it is 4 pipes and they dont explode when people walk over them. but its still got shit like being unable to break sticks with bullets
