#6 Known scammer alt opening a gambling site. in TF2 General Discussion
DeltaTf2if you check the linked accounts steamrep the reason i am a scammer is a faulty steamrep. there was no images attached that i can find from the report, and i have full proof of payments of this unusual hat i had purchased at the time.

doesn't change the valve trade ban or the hacking accusation. feel free to argue your case further, but cmon man. would you really go into this if you were marked for scamming on a known alt/ on a main account without sharing that if it were a mistake?

#1 Known scammer alt opening a gambling site. in TF2 General Discussion

I hate posting this on these forums, but this is a group that has gotten somewhat-involved in lower level comp tf2 groups for promotion, so I wanted to spread the word.

Ok, it has come to my attention through a friend that a known scammer is planning to start up a tf2 gambling site much like sweepstakes.tf.

Here's the site's steam group. Here's the guy's steamrep. He's got a SteamRep ban and a Valve trade probation. And is an apparent alt of this guy

If you have any friends in the above steam group, please warn them about this. The entire purpose of the site is that it's a clone of sweepstakes.tf but better...

Steam groupFundamentally, this site serves the same purpose as our competitors, however we think we could do a better job.

This comes up because a tf2 community member (someone I have a mutual friend with) made this cool logo for the project.

http://i.imgur.com/y4F9O1G.jpg

The creator (esqapade) was told he'd be paid an unusual, and when he sent the final preview to the guy, he was removed and blocked on steam after being mocked. It's currently the logo used on the steam group. This block didn't last too long before he was added back and offered an unusual.

chat logDelta || Tossup.tf: ill pay you
Delta || Tossup.tf: when i can trade in 4 hours
christmas lando: what made you change your heart?
christmas lando: and what will i be getting?
Delta || Tossup.tf: Not a thing
Delta || Tossup.tf: the unusual
christmas lando: which is?
Delta || Tossup.tf: the 11 key blokes

This is an unusual he was going to give away to members of the steam group, so basically he's lying to at least one person already. For those that don't know about this sort of site (which is super popular in cs), you essentially put a bunch of valuable items in a pot and the site then give one winner all the prizes. Sorta like scammer heaven. Anyways, just wanted you guys to know about this stuff. Have a lovely Christmas.

Absolutely insane what engineers can do. It doesn't even make sense how something like this could happen. It went to space, left some shit up there, and came fucking back. That's CRAZY.

I hate to double post, but signups end soon-ish (probably a few days), and I don't want anyone to miss this if they were hoping to get in. I know a lot of people were hyped for this project.

If you want to get into the alpha, please feel free to sign up here.

We're approaching our next step in closed alpha planning. Many of the "everything is on fire" glitches have been fixed, and we're approaching a point where more testers are needed to evaluate the site. Keep in mind that the site won't be full of lobbies 24/7, and that being in the alpha means you will be submitting bug reports and helping us out with suggestions and feedback. Signups are open for NA and EU gamers.

Participants will be selected on general community trust in individuals. There will also be a certain number of random people added as well, so sign up for your chance here.

aierai think the issue here is that someone who has both (a) enjoyed coaching newbie mixes in the past and (b) had people who he has coached recommend him in this very thread, speaks volumes about his ability to coach, that being said since when have you had a generous pool of coaches, you literally feel the need to bump the thread for coaches weekly.

I am talking about coaches specifically for this project, not newbie mixes. Many players don't like coaching newbie mixes because it is essentially the same thing every game ("please... please stop overextending..."). He is totally free to coach newbie mixes (as is everyone with mid-open+ experience).

fatswimdudekevin, any reason youre not allowing billdozer to coach? yeah hes a meme but he has both IM experience and open playoffs experience, (yeah it was low IM but at least his team finished a season) and would really be a pefectly good coach for newbies.

If I didn't have reasons, I wouldn't have said no. If someone messages me saying "billdozer is trying to get in contact with you" but "he's banned from TFTV so he cant post there", that is a pretty big red flag for me. Someone that is deemed unfit to post on forums generally isn't the person I want leading a group of new players into the community. Even if that weren't the case, he's come in to newbie mixes in the past and trolled/ ignored admins. It's just not going to happen.

fatswimdudeif you want to restrict it to a higher skill level then do that but dont deny people who meet the requirements.

I'm lucky in that this community is generous enough to where there is a pretty large pool of coaches I have to choose from. So there will be several people who meet the requirements that don't make it.

FUNKeIf i'm interested in being matched into a team, but haven't previously taken part of Newbie mixes, Would that be alright? Of course I'd be willing to participate in mixes down the road, but i've only participated in other pugs and matches.

Yes this is a community-wide recruitment project, so everyone will be able to sign up. It is highly recommended that you go to a few newbie mixes to solidify the basics if you need to though.

StevieMan I'd so love to go up for this, but I really just can't cuz my schedule. IF this is successful, would you guys do this mmm perhaps next season or so?

Yes.

valtroidThis seems like a really cool thing and I'd love to participate as a player.

razeacutally, question: will teh coaches find a server, will you guys do that, or will the players? how about scrims? will teh teams schedule them themselves?
and are these teams designed to exist for more than one season?

Serveme is a thing, and I have a few rcons that I can give if anyone really needs one.

SmesiOne question.

Let's say i want to join that newbie team because i'm always looking to get better and i've been playing Newbie Mixes for months now and some other guy wants to join that Newbie team and has only played one or two Newbie Mixes.

Does he/she have the same chances as me to join that team?

We look at experience both in newbie mixes and out of newbie mixes to determine that, so no I guess? There will be several teams. Odds are, you will get on one of them.

TheMelonThis sounds interesting, I may give it a shot. One question though.

How will teams be picked? Will the coaches pick teams? Will newbies create there own teams? Will teams be created by the newbie mixes staff?

It be nice if coaches got to create teams in my opinion. They would be able to set up 6 players with a solid idea of the game, and that they know and like.

We will be creating a pool of newbies and sorting them out into teams of similar capabilities. More experienced mentors get to pick teams first, then the others.
