#49 Newbie Mix Coaches in TF2 General Discussion
TheMelonWhat are the recommended requirements for being a coach? I would totally do it sometime if I fit the bill.

We have weekly raffles for IM+ coaches, but we will take anyone who has broken even in open (and occasionally slightly under that when no one else helps out).

ZordonFreemanI'd like to clarify, by "Showing up" does that mean watching the steam, joining the server or what?

This is currently planned as a one-off event. That may change depending on how well the event goes. We'll have the infrastructure in place already, so the only challenge will be organization (which a small group of people have been doing essentially as a full time job for this project for the past 2-3 weeks).

That said, TF2Stadium will continue doing similar projects we deem will benefit both the competitive community and the tf2 community as a whole.

Sorry for the delayed responses.

Kond3PJust to make sure, having played one season in 6v6 ETF2L Mid I'm eligible for "ETF2L Mid+"? Also Masters of Maincalling doesn't list ETF2L at all.
E: I also can't participate in surfing after I signed up to history. It says the scheduling conflicts but surfing is supposed to start just as history ends.

1. Yes.
2. You can only be in classes that start two hours after each other. This is to prevent potential overlap from delays or times going over.

xattuuapparently you cant sign up for the maincalling and eu gimmicks because one ends at 4 and the other starts at 4. might want to change the end times to 3:59 ect so people can sign up for consecutive classes

This is by design, so above.

MankyEU Gimmicks: 2:30-4:00
Maincalling: 4-00:5:30
How does it conflict ;_;

same.

JermWhat happens with classes that aren't streamed on TFTV's channel? Personal streams? Mumble recordings?

We will have postproduced content going up on our tf2stadium youtube page, which will be linked soon.

Friendly_ProtistNo love for jumping? A master class in jumping (both beginners and maybe speedrunning/trickjumping) seems appropriate.

I asked around, but like Dr.shdwpuppet said, the classes and teachers we made were based on a lot of things, not just how much we liked the certain skill. We wanted to get a jump class going, but we simply weren't able to in a reasonable amount of time.

pyro2The wrong spyro is listed on the Basics of Pyro session. It will be me and Katsy teaching the course.

And why is my name pyro2. I have no idea.

Fixed. was done at 4 am last night, sorry!!

the301stspartanIdea sounds amazing; I don't, however understand what signing up for this means and why it is required/limited. Does it mean only people who are signed up and meet the requirements will be able to view the stream? If so, why and how would that even work technically? Or can everyone watch it but only signed up can chat/communicate with the coaches? That would make much more sense?

Signups are for the mumble classes. These are actually masterclasses, so there will be interaction between the students who sign up through the website and the teachers.

The stream and all the post produced content will be available to everyone.

Welcome to the largest, most diverse learning event in the history of Team Fortress 2.

TF2Stadium is proud to present: The "Masters of Classes" day of TF2 masterclasses. One morning a few weeks ago, BUICK, samiface, ScottJAw, and I were hanging out in a mumble casually discussing ways we could benefit the community and bring different aspects of TF2 together. After about an hour of conversation, the ideas for the "Masters of Classes" event—a name I'm a little bit too proud of—began developing into an actual plan. Here was a way to reach new players who were struggling to get more out of the game. A few weeks and many man (and woman) hours later, here we are! Just a couple weeks from now, we will be hosting the largest learning event in TF2 history.

Here's a list of the classes we will be offering:

*These classes will be streamed on http://twitch.tv/teamfortresstv

Sign up for classes NOW: http://classes.tf2stadium.com!

Follow TF2Stadium on twitter for updates on both this event and our up-and-coming, open source lobby website! http://twitter.com/TF2Stadium

#7 TF2 News Post : EdgeGamer's Ultiduo Tournament in TF2 General Discussion
Paladin_IMSconsidering how the arena respawn tournament went, they've got a lot to live up to in terms of how the tournament is ran.

They sorted out a lot of stuff with the arena respawn stuff. By the finals, it was run very smoothly, and I have faith the admins will be fine. Also, the last eGO event I did (the demonight marathon thing) was run perfectly smoothly.

This is a big pub org that's dipping its toes into competitive and doing a great job. So yeah, if you don't want to play, that's fine. But let's not shittalk them, they're doing great.

edit: Also, I'm 2 for 2 in winning these eGO things, any soldiers looking for a medic? i wanna game (spoiler: not actually going to win this time)

#11 TSU's issues with the fall classic in TF2 General Discussion

Yeah, just I want to quickly point out that running tournaments is ridiculously complicated, and making everyone happy is never going to happen. There were decisions I made in REALTourney that I have come to regret, and it's stuff like this that makes me hesitant to run tournaments ever again.

The notion that tsc had some kind of benefit in making the call that ash was good to play (whether it was the right or wrong decision) is not rooted in reality. I think if tsc is guilty of anything, it would be overbooking himself in what he was managing. Running both the tournament and the stream is not typically a good idea.

All this said, ninjanick and company have (across all tournaments of mine they've participated in) been the kindest, most easy-going participants I've ever dealt with, so I'm assuming that there were some serious mistakes made by the tournament staff. I hope this can somehow resolve itself, and I do hope that you would give tsc, one of the hardest workers behind the scenes in tf2, a second chance should he ever run another tournament.
