God bless TheFragile for running this event, giving me a spot to sleep, casting when needed, balancing all of this while running other tournaments as well, and somehow finding the strength to record a 40 minute interview for the TF2 documentary at 4 in the morning after a 20 hour day.

Thanks to DennisTheMenace for coming to LAN expecting to run camera but instead being the 2nd hand man on everything from running the actual tournament to doing misc production stuff to shooting b-roll to everything else.

Thanks to FrenchyTheLlama for driving home and back to get his PC (like an hour and a half worth of driving) when he learned we weren't going to have a good PC for both our casters, then staying several hours later than he originally planned because of it.

Thanks to the awesome people that gave me rides to and from the venue. I have had some medical issues over the past few months, and there's no way I could have walked both ways every day.

Thanks to the casters--Keith, GetAWhale, Gecks, Flame, TheFragile, Jerma, and Star--for keeping everything light hearted and fun. I would have keeled over at the in-game camera PC without them.

I want to say that I'm not against a centered thing (though I would say it's my preference that I'm not a huge fan of it). I would say, though, that it would need to be very cleverly designed to be both as clean as the current setup without being clutter-y, and the recommendation in the OP is both of those things.

The current scoreboard takes up barely any space, looks great on the hud, and is out of the way unless you want to look at it. Citing the people too stupid to look in the corners to get the score as a reason to adopt a clunkier, less theme-following scoreboard doesn't make any sense to me.

You actually lose information with the scoreboard you suggested, especially in euroland where they only play two maps each series. More space taken up with less information given is very rarely good design.

I can't think of a time I've ever seen a sport (or any competition other than some of the esports) keep the score in the dead center. It goes against several principles of design, and isn't really worth the struggle of changing (think of poor tsc and company).

as someone who has played on a team with pie hero and capnfapn before, i can assure you: you want to play on a team with pie hero and capnfapn.

I'm pretty sure the X-Games has branched out and done some of this.

At least you got one of the two, lol. I never got either after several weeks of messages on twitter/steam/email.

I just think of it as a donation to froyo and have moved on. 38 bucks isn't a huge deal in the grand scheme of things.
