Go to any anime convention anywhere ever and you'll see enough bad Homestuck cosplay to last you for the rest of your life. It's funny, I never hear about it ever until the odd time I go to one of those and then suddenly it's apparently the hottest shit since pokemon cards.
I actually read a bunch of it a couple years ago, the first 3 acts and I think a bit of the fourth. I think I enjoyed it at the time but I lost interest and I really don't think I could be assed to read all of that shit considering how much of it there is. I'd need to be given a damn good reason to read 6000+ pages of something; if the fandom is any indication of its quality, which often tends to be the case, I probably don't have any reason to do so either.
So to answer your question OP: if you read the first act or so and it completely blows your mind with how outstandingly amazing it is, go for it I guess. If it doesn't, there are many better things to read in the spare time you would otherwise be wasting on Homestuck, like reading fucking Proust or something.
