To expand on hanbrolo, your specific mistake seems to have the "generate normal map" button in "general" tab of the import options checked. Also again, sorry for the lack of updates on the gif thing, i have been pretty burned out lately on this stuff. By the way, (i know this seems random) but i think your sourcescheme's scrollbar looks really great.

According to Rays, the eXtv casting HUD is going to be released soon and you can find a remake of the Teamfortresstv HUD by Voloder here. You could also use OMP´s hud which is what the Teamfortresstv channel used before that one.

I am retarded. Didn´t realize you already tried to do this and probably failed at the same point I did: you do not have access to the location definition (so you cannot relocate stuff of /sprites/ folder) in the .res files. At least I wouldn't know where else to look for them. Anyway, in the unlikely case someone DOES have an idea, here are the sprites + vmts.
Move content of /sprites/ into thumbnails folder
Supplement extracted VMT-config files
Edit controlpointicon.res and VMTs to link to new path
Path .res files: "image" "replay/thumbnails/FILENAME”
Path .vmt files: "$basetexture" "vgui/replay/thumbnails/FILENAME”
I´ll let you guys know if this fixed it or I´m just an idiot.
