#48 America vs. Europe in News
mthsadthesupremecommanderLuckyLukeI don't know how "easy" it will be though sending the items to the right steam accounts.. Maybe they can use a list of emails, but I'm not so sure about that.
From what I understand the current method involves using the Steam Web API to grant the items to other people's accounts, although I certainly don't have experience with it.

You probably could do it if you had people sign in with a Steam account somewhere in the process.
or include their steam id somewhere in the purchase

Maybe it's possible to send out redeemable steam codes to all email adresses that bought / donated.
It's on the first page right now, woohoo!

Yes, it's for coupons... ??% off and stuff. I think the revenue share will stay the same.

badge for the documentary
Has anyone officialy contacted valve about getting this in?

I think it would be a massive promo tool if it was given in genuine quality to who bought the documentary, or to who donated to the i46-i49 fund.

Edit: Im wondering about the infrastructure to stream the video, will you outsource it or stream it from extv servers? It seems really heavy if it's 4Gbs for hundreds of vviewes at the same time

I did mention it to Valve and just sent them the workshop link. Vintage would be cool too. I don't know how "easy" it will be though sending the items to the right steam accounts.. Maybe they can use a list of emails, but I'm not so sure about that.

VHX is hosting the site & downloads, should be fine.

Edit: ah, didn't see there's a second page here.... What Sal said!

skyrideHowever I'm a little confused. To my understanding the extv trip was primarily funded by the community in the form of donations. Isn't it a little bit unfair to ask for money again?

As Tang_Un said, donations were purely used to get both American teams there. We paid our own trips.

fsXDWould there be an option to pay more than 5$? I might be able to chip in a bit extra, or I could just buy more than one.

Thanks, first of all. :D
I'm sure there are options... I'll discuss with the rest of the crew. Best option I think now is to buy more than one and gift the rest to friends (hit the gift to a friend option and you can send it to their email)!
I also have a paypal button (only for me personally though!) on my site somewhere. eXtv used to have one on the site but I don't see it right now.

@341 proceeds go to us 4, split to who spent most time etc... No idea what we'll do with it, but as for myself I can definitely use some new video gear here and there!

Thanks so much to everyone that pre-ordered!!

#42 Questions for video editors in TF2 General Discussion
CzarOfTheSkyebearodactylyoutube compresses to 30fpsfair enough, i just heard that when you upload va the euro youtube it compresses 25.. iunno, got no source on that..
doesn't make the big difference Anyways :p

No, if you upload a 60fps video it will make it 30, because that's half. If you upload 50 it will go to 25.
I don't recommend it though, sound can go out of sync and stuff. It's better to prepare your video for YouTube and render to 30 or lower.

#17 Questions for video editors in TF2 General Discussion
dellortLuckyLukeI record every clip seperately, but use VDM recording where possible to save time (firstperson shots from POV demos)
Have you found a way to keep video/audio sync when recording with VDM files or has it never been an issue for you? I used to use them to save time but recently the sync has been off after compiling in Vdub so I'm just doing it manually.

No, doing it manually as well. Annoying but still quicker than recording each clip separately.

#15 Questions for video editors in TF2 General Discussion

Frag videos:
1. Record everything
2. Find music / style
3. Draft cut (and record additional shots along the way if needed)
4. Finalize (Go through everything again, refine transitions, add effects, sound etc)

Top10:
1. Clip sorting
2. Record everything
3. Clip ordering
4. Draft cut
5. Music & commentary
6. Soundtrack mixing & effects
7. Finalize

I leave everything raw on my HDD until the final video is on YouTube (use the raw files to edit).
I record every clip seperately, but use VDM recording where possible to save time (firstperson shots from POV demos)

There is no right or wrong way of doing it, final product is what matters. Though there are ways to save time of course!

shadekwahlsterWill there be an i49 documentary?
I plan on shooting some content that I will not upload right away to YouTube. I plan on, with the help of an editor, piecing together a small documentary for i49. I'm in the process of lining up interviews with iM and hopefully broder and epsilon as well. Either way along with my normal
Content I hope to release a mini docu on everything at i49. :)

I'm not attending this time but I'd love to help out with some of this stuff. I'm sure Sal will be shooting some videos too. Send it to me! :D

rapscallione@LuckyLuke- how exactly did you shoot for 50 fps? For frag vids, sure, but that's a really strange frame rate for live action footage. What gear were you running for this?

Sony HX9V.
