boutrosWhile we're at it can the self-damage to demo also be scaled the same way that stickies are? I'd feel a little better about things if I could do 20 damage jumps to complement the 20 damage stickies.

If you'd also get less force from it, it would break demo jumping (unless it would work like the liberty launcher ofcourse), also point blank stickies don't do 20 damage even now it is nerfed.

thrasherI did. I never said it was exactly the same tho. I was comparing the reactions to the nerfs.

Soldiers got an ammo nerf.

While it didn't cause as much anger, scouts kinda got a nerf by banning Bonk. (A lot of scouts would use it to just get behind, or out of bad spots after making a bad play).

Demos got a damage nerf on sticks. Traps are still just as effective. Pipes are just as effective. Back in the day fucking solid would run targe in invite matches (not always, but often) because he could hit crazy pipes. Demos with good pipe aim will be in high demand now.

I know it's gotta suck for demo mains to get a damage nerf, but all I'm saying is its not the end of the world.

Tide turner should be allowed, way more interesting to watch then sticky spam/traps :)

How anyone could read this thread and come away with the overall impression that the sticky nerf was a good thing is beyond me.

Ever heard of the quote “Change is hardest at the beginning, messiest in the middle and best at the end.” It's quite obvious were in the messy part.

That doesn't necessarily mean it is bad, it is way too early to say that.

;Going to sleep now, but imo people shouldn't make such a fuss about it and try finding new strats (or do usually extraordinary strats more often, I still find sycning stickies, basically spamming if you do it right, still does insane damage) instead of blowing the whole nerf up and claiming TF2 comp is dead

Like a good scout could be stopped with stickies before the nerf, only thing that could save you at close range was your GL.

Look, It's a huge nerf if you were always that Spammy demo that didn't want to learn any other aspects of the class but that, so far I've barely noticed it, because I'm usually syncing stickies for more damage anyway. I use pipes more than stickies, and I like my traps & blocking hall ways/choke points, and now you're telling me all of this extremely strong stuff demo can do just as well as before, is a Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugeee meta game changing nerf, than you're lying to yourself, or you're stuck in the past and your old habbits.
