you should probably try to get these signup threads stickied. the event is better than just a drifting forum post, but most of those events are just etf2l/esea matches anyway, so it's still easy to lose sight of more important stuff that's happening.
it's hard though. when the standard ugc forum poster responds with stuff like this, it's tough to say what will bring them back.

actually ridiculous to not sign up for this now. theres a prize pool, the top teams have their own bracket, and the time commitment is far less intense than before. get ur dang teams in and pester ur buds to do the same, this is a Big Deal!

mto be fair theres at least 3 players in a dm server at any time who are either soldiers bombing scouts already in 1v1s or scouts who 100% will not start shooting at an enemy until theyve engaged somebody else so its really not that far from what already goes on
ya if the server's full. it often isn't. at least those guys are somewhat interesting to try to shoot at

what is with this victim complex?? we know very very little about how faceit thinks about tf2. we can assume that we're probably not super high on their priority list since we're not an enormous game, but we haven't been dealing with them long enough to know whether theyre just gonna leave us out to dry or not. its not like esea where it's been proven over the course of years that they don't give a fuck. even pugchamp, with a small team of devs that undoubtedly care about the game outside of its ability to make money, has taken years to implement something as simple as elo. tf2pl by comparison has only been out 3 months. seems p reasonable to wait at least several more months for a total system revamp.
so hey there's an na tourny listed on the essentials site claiming to happen before the eu one, but you guys haven't made an official announcement yet i guess? whats up with that?
tbh the threshold shouldn't matter, we should be working to get as many actual eu teams signed up as possible anyway.
