BonafideSo now we also have this particle replacer for explosions, is there any reason left to still use dx8? Besides if you have a really shitty pc?
Despite always having 300+ FPS on DX9, for some reason the game feels a lot smoother when I switch to DX8.
I also get the same effect with certain commands like mat_phong 0, fps_max 0, cl_/sv_forcepreload 1, just to name a few.
This is why I use a slightly edited version of Chris' High Frames config despite getting 200+ FPS with the High Quality config.
I think it would be great if someone could test out these differences. DX8 and DX9 I heard have different effects on different computers, but it would be great if I could have someone test this out, and confirm that its not just me.
