to reiterate, definitely get a mattress topper to turn any horrible mattress you get into a comfortable haven - honestly it'll make your life so much better, especially if you happen to get a springy nightmare.

Following the gravelpit thread, I'd just like to gather some opinions on what modes people think could work better in 6s.
I've already tried making a 5cp map designed for 6s, but it ended up just being way too average and was swamped by the much better maps, like reckoner. The aim I always had was to try and reduce stalemates and I personally think this could be better achieved on another mode. The I've got a few smaller projects I've been working on but unsure of which one to really commit to, so I'd like to hear some opinions on which modes would be the most viable, excluding koth I guess.

Kind of leaning towards AD possibly being the best. It's so much easier to balance the point for one situation, having the enemy gamers cap, rather than a situation where you have to make an area easy to both push and push out of. It's so much easier when the stalemate is actually intended, rather than it just being a byproduct. What do you reckon?

gpit would always have been good if the rulesets hadn't been so bad, in my opinion anyway.

should never have been AD, DA- should just have had it be stopwatch once and that's it. Just have a fistfight if you can't decide who defends first. The whole best of 3 thing just made the length way too long to be scrimmed on.

according to comp.tf (and #24) australia plays reckoner instead of sunshine aswell, but why is it a surprise that a european event would have a european map pool? We don't play sunshine anymore, isn't that just as much as an unfair advantage for the USA people?

I mean sure, but that's not going to change any of what I said is it, that's only going to change if they update it.

considering that the rare pokemon always spawn in exactly the same spot (the bins behind aldi netted me 2 onix, a cloyster, a victreebell, and a lapras, none of which have appeared anywhere else at all- why isn't it random) I'm struggling to see what the point is. Once you can't contest gyms there's literally no point in playing really. You can't battle your mates or trade, so that's already worse than what we had on gameboy when we were kids. The spawn system is 100% predictable so finding good pocket monsters isn't even really fun. Apparently it's just been copy pasted from their last game.

Plus the servers are shit so half the time I don't even get my rares. Already missed out on a gengar, slowbro and tentacruel. Obviously that'll be fixed eventually but it's still annoying as hell, and I doubt I'll get back the lucky egg and the incenses that've been swallowed by the server.

So essentially it boils down to grinding the spots where the good pocket monsters spawn so you can control a gym, but why even bother when your gym can just get 2v1d and then you're SOL- and that's on top of your gym losing prestige if someone uses 3 pokemon to defeat one. There's not even any skill involved you just mash the screen as fast as possible. So for me there's no sense of actually being a gym leader, who is supposed to be the best in the area. Though then again that'd just be whoever wants to spend 50 quid on loads of incubators.

personally the novelty is gone at this point and I reckon this would have zero players if it wasn't a pokemon game, because the game is actually kind of shit really. Sorry for being a nerd tbh just a bit emotional cause I have bare fond memories of bodying idiots in the school playground and I'm right disappointed ;(

Hildreth got me into the game and despite being a grumpy fuck never raged at me once, despite me being by far the worst player on the team for 3 different seasons even at LAN- also gave me food at my first lan when I brought the wrong debit card and even arranged a lift home for me because I was like 14 and too scared to ask any of the big scary adults.

Since then he's offered to nullify any LAN debts I've owed him when I've been poor, listened to me when I've been really down and even encouraged me to leave a bad relationship.

Maxi I've not known for as long but since I've known him has been nothing but lovely to me and everyone around him. He's always looking to be social with everyone and doesn't have a bad word to say about anyone really, which doesn't sound like much but some of us upset him a lot unintentionally and he holds no grudge against us for it. Even after his trust got betrayed by someone and lost a good chunk of money for it, he's still willing to help us out in any way, he looks out for men or women that are our types, he puts his own cash on the line to get us sony discounts, he even drove me to LAN and is still giving even now, never asking for anything in return other than his due.

Both of these guys have done so much for me and I'm honestly glad to call both of them friends and wish I could do more for them too. I'd trust these guys way sooner than I'd trust my 'real' friends.

at least if we're poorer that'll mean my esport career winnings will have more weight
