#180 so uhh.. in TF2 General Discussion

Just pure whinging about how the Man (bad open players who DARE to not want bonk) are keeping your dreams of a decade old game resurging in popularity and going through a competitive renaissance down, despite the reality being that nobody really gives a shit about tf2 and even the tf2 players don't give a shit about 6s, or any other kind of competitive gaming for that matter

But you can rest easy, safe in the knowledge that if it were up to you tf2 would be a great esport and you'd be in a sick gaming house with bare fans. It's just unreasonable for the bulk of tf2 players to NOT inconvenience themselves so that you may be graced with an extra 40 dollars, and I can't believe they'd do such a thing. But it's ok, after all, there was never any option to perhaps play a more likely esport so there's nothing that can be done at this point other than to go for a solid cope and moan on twitter

Happy holidays :-D

#24 TF2 and mental illness (VENT) in TF2 General Discussion

i've been playing for about 7 years at the exact same level - the way I think about it is that if you're having fun then good and if you're not then play against worse people so you can have fun again. being good or bad is completely subjective to the level you play at. if you're prem high players are bad and if you're open high players are gods.

if you feel like you're not very good at a class after ages of playing it and that annoys you, then just change class and play tf2c or something where you just get to chill out and do dumb shit while you improve your mechanics. if you have high expectations of yourself and fail to meet them that's not good for confidence.. just like u I have little confidence in my own play so I know what the effects are like, and I prefer to just avoid that by not playing whatever class I think I'm the best on

idk what it's like in america but in europe you can play only TF2C and it can make u top open/low mid so maybe that's like mid open in america, but the point is pugs where people are annoying aren't your only option and it's way more fun to just chill out

Tobtotal of 5. to prevent complete stacks from rolling solo players

I don't think it makes much of a difference. A stack of 5 is still gonna roll a group of solos regardless if they're actually trying imo

#67 Would you like to see TF2 come to ESL Play? in TF2 General Discussion

tf2 has a much larger than average amount of people that leave the house on weekends and due to that many teams don't want to or can't play on friday, saturday or sunday. a lot of tf2 people have jobs. ventures in tf2 have generally failed due to either scheduling assuming weekends are best for players, or the fact that thanks to our 10 year running ability to play for almost nothing, most tf2 players don't heavily value potential for further growth, if it inconveniences them in the present (ex. bad scheduling time, subpar rules/whitelist/map-pool) - which can make working with tf2 hard.

the good thing about working with tf2 players is that we are really passionate when it comes to fulfilling set goals, like our pretty much annual fundraising for LAN events for tf2 players. following from what lucrative said, I believe if given a set goal, like amount of signups over seasons, or donations tiers to reach higher prizepool, there's a lot of people in the community that would really strive to make it happen. i mean torrit would hit the whip AND the nae nae on stream.

I worry for anything coming new for tf2 because I feel like the good parts of the community are never capitalised on, while the apathetic side gets to show its face all the time. It's really important to capitalise on the people that literally burn holes in their own pockets just to make tf2 that bit better.

If the esl play admins read this I think it's really important for you guys to bring in key members of the community, people that have the contacts + understand the community and what we react well to

e- sry I wrote this while half asleep now it makes sense and I finished some of my thoughts, also please don't do ladder.

VisAnd why do you believe research proving why a certain tendency is true 'does not exist'? You literally provide no counter arguments apart from giving your own close-minded beliefs, trying to be interesting.

he's probably talking about when you said the thing about younger/older sisters and then said it's just your own theory with no research

#42 3cp In 6v6 in Map Discussion
SaullixA better way to get rid of stalemates would be to make the round timer after a point is capped much shorter and just give the team with more points the round win. This forces the defending team to have to push out of last otherwise they risk losing the round. The only issue I see with this approach is teams stalemating after they push up to second or last becoming a dominant strategy, but personally I think this opens up more interesting gameplay since the defending team now has to actively think about getting out of last as opposed to just waiting for the attacking team to retard push in.

Forcing teams to push out is something that isn't encouraged enough on 5cp, and threatening a round loss for turtling too long is a good thing imo.

you're giving the team that wins mid a free round for turtling second, it's very difficult to push into 2nd if the attacking team doesn't make mistakes

how is that better?
