It didn't take them much resources to add TF2 to the CS ESEA LAN. But when ESEA signed with ESL to host their top division playoffs, there was no way ESL was gonna host a large scale TF2 tourney.

Servers run at 60 tick, so there's an update every ~16.66 milliseconds. So if someone with 5 ping shoots later in the tick, the rocket may appear on the server as late as 21 milliseconds later, but could also appear in pretty much 5 milliseconds.
And then its kinda a bracketing system from there I guess. You're almost always going to be within the same 'bracket' of real time delay.
if you guys can't feel the variance between rocket timings when you shoot early in the tick vs late in the tick (max difference of like 15 realistically), then its reasonable to say that feeling the difference between 25 and 50 ping isn't actually that much

it's framerate dependent. So someone with higher consistent frames can use a lower value without issues, but if that players framerate dips, they will get choppy audio
play around with that setting until you find something you notice works at all times, while also being the lowest you can

Literally not the same file, that exploit doesn't work on pure 2 to my knowledge.
But also in the last 3 years my opinion on a lot of the scripting that TF2 players use has changed. I'm down to live without vtf crosshairs and the explosion script if it means people aren't cheating

e2: read the thread, it isn't blocked by sv_pure 2 properly. It has the exact same bug as when pure 2 "blocks" the spy cheat. So we're at 3+ years of pure being broken at this point.
