Forty-TwoPhoenix21I don't think that highlander is a good introduction for the competitive scene, it's hard to follow 18 players so it's not good for spectating in comparison to 6s and the class limit makes it far less dynamic than 6s.Thankfully new players wanting to try actually playing their first competitive games themselves are not likely to be too bothered about the lack of LAN tournaments yet, and will probably care more about finally getting to play competitive themselves rather than only spectating without ever participating.
also considering the fact that all the bigger lans have been 6s (gxl, esea, insomnia) and highlander only had Deutschlan.
it's a shame that another major cup is wasted on this gamemode.
The previous HLO, though it had its flaws, was a huge succes in my opinion, and many players I know (including myself) started playing at that cup. A fair amount of them went on to play in high and prem highlander, and most of them play both highlander and 6s.
I get it if you don't like highlander and don't want to play it, and that's completely fine. However, plenty of people enjoy playing the format and would love to see the player base get a bit of a boost. Not everything is a waste if it doesn't benefit 6s, you know, even if you dislike the highlander format I don't see how you should begrudge the people who do like it to have a healthy influx of new players. That said, the previous HLO brought players into competitive in general, and though they started with HLO, plenty of them ended up enjoying both formats. Not a 'waste' at all in my books!
still, 256 teams signed up to this tournament, so there could potentially be around 400 teams if it was a 6s cup, also considering that valve supports 6s matchmaking I think even more players would play it, the example I gave about the lans is to show the lack of interest in highlander in Comparison to 6s.

Introducing The Highlander Open #2, an introduction for non-competitive players into the comp scene or for those wanting to get into league-style competitive TF2 in a simple manner

it's a demo call for a frag movie, not for single frag clips, just think of it like a regular demo call.
and if you're talking about the 'fun video' I am guessing he will make something that resambles this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nR6ZZKM4P9Q
what makes an esport succesful is the number of viewers not the amount of players.
MilanPhoenix21CollaideIs the deviation going to be reset?yeah the deviation resets every month, but not the elo.
Not true, the admins haven't decided when to reset deviation. From what i was told it would be at the end of the esea season.
last month it reset in europe so that's why I was saying that, I don't play NA pugchamp.
CollaideIs the deviation going to be reset?
yeah the deviation resets every month, but not the elo.
TroopoMan all these EU tourneys with the fattest prize pools, and zero NA tourneys going around.
it's better than the other way around since in terms of time zones it makes sense that people from NA can play in EU but it's not the case the other way around
it is also very important to note what class the person is playing, a demo or a medic would not get much tension because they don't need to have pixel accurate aim, but I doubt a good scout/sniper that play with less than 15 cm or so doesn't feel pain if playing over a few hours a day.

longest etf2l map I know of:
http://etf2l.org/matches/52830/
over 55 minutes.
etf2l staff decided that golden caps will have a timelimit of 10 but the team that held mid at the end of the 10 minutes didn't win the GC instead it would reset and there would be another golden cap. Seagulls decided not to push in the first GC round because they were sure they would win if they hold mid at the end of the 10 minutes, which wasn't the case, same happened for 2nd GC and they won the 3rd.
atleast the rules have been changed since.
HildrethI think the issues B@gser5 have had is they are chopping and changing their roster too much, they had a solid team at the end of High playoffs, I get Nesh wasn't playing but I don't get why they moved Timus to backup (My attempts to decipher from the interview leave me without the answers) - Uubers was a solid player for us but asking him to step up to Prem with a new team with their own distinct style. Don't even get me started on the Demo's, Shappie is a good player for the level but they seemed to have chemistry with Unlimited, whenever we played them they always kept their Demo/Medic alive, making them a hard team to break down - Strengths of B5 were always their teamwork, good decision making (considering most people think Russians play like retards, they played a smart, safe game) then they massively edit their roster - should be trying to keep it as close to the successful formula they had in High, now they're losing games - from experience I can say massively changing your roster won't bring you success, sadly they already done it too much. Maybe Dima is unlucky with some of his players, but these sorts of changes sadly too me indicate a possible fold in the future, which is a shame I really rate the B@gser5 core of Mr Epic, Dima, Timus and Unlimited.
Good luck to them, but I think some leadership naivety has cost B5 this season.
they moved timus to back up because he couldn't play not because they wanted to. "Timus said that he have no time to play anymore and he gonna leave for rl." from the interview with him.
