Not even a question. Unless the coach is literally a clown there is no way he could not present a huge advantage. It's much easier to use your brain in game when you aren't actually playing.
LKincheloeOn the bright side: Since they're wasting their time doing this they're not breaking anything meaningful.
What is your problem lol.
trashnew players aren't joining HL because most of them just end up thinking "matchmaking is coming soon, I'll go wait for that"
If this was true wouldn't more people be joining ESEA for 6s? Or UGC 6s? As far as I can tell esea open didn't exponentially grow as of recent, and just like hl, 6s in UGC is way down in numbers currently (not including the inevitable amount of dead that will die midseason). Just last season 6s platinum was removed because a lack of teams.
This trend has been going on for a little while now, so I don't think it's fair saying matchmaking is the sole reason (albeit the drop was a bit more than average this season irc).

This is true. I was playing HL before CSGO even came released. And yes, HL is more popular now than 2012 and before
Counter-Strike (also known as Half-Life: Counter-Strike) is a first-person shooter video game developed by Valve Corporation. It was initially developed and released as a Half-Life modification by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess "Cliffe" Cliffe in 1999, before Le and Cliffe were hired and the game's intellectual property acquired. Counter-Strike was first released by Valve on the Microsoft Windows platform in 2000. The game later spawned a franchise, and is the first installment in the Counter-Strike series. Several remakes and Ports of Counter-Strike have been released on the Xbox console, as well as OS X and Linux. It is sometimes referred to as Counter-Strike 1.6 to distinguish it from other titles of the series, 1.6 being the final major software update the game received.
Yup, CS was made at that time. I'm being technical in saying you can't really have a competitive CSGO without CSGO being released. Yes the community was there from CS, but you can't really say matches and tournaments were being held before 2012. Ergo no competitive CSGO.

This is typical journalism really, just elevating "competitive" to "professional", probably just to attract views. They likely know nothing about UGC and watched some maxbox video.
xo"We have an admin meeting tomorrow to discuss next season and we'll decide something on this." -UGC Snowblind on turning over matches
what a joke. How are you going to discuss something that should already be in place?
Yeah because people love it when UGC makes big decisions without talking it out in a meeting. I don't see a problem with considering the options here and not rashly making a decision while it's all unfolding.
skeejYou actually described the current UGC anti-cheat system. Which appears to not work. So in what way does this not undermine the credibility of the current system?
UGC does not use any anti-cheat client, and like miggy says UGC relies on pov demos requested from people that go to volunteers. Of course there will be holes in this, AC can only see what they're given. An obvious problem to this is if no one requests a pov from who they think is hacking, how is UGC AC supposed to work? Without a client this will remain a problem (and you can't expect a client from a non-profit league).
When more people are talking about the spoilers in the thread than the actual result, you may want to reconsider that stance (especially over something so petty as to change a title). You don't have to agree with it, just realize majority of the people want it changed and those are the same people who're reading it and getting spoiled.

Moritzwhat do gargoyles look like, i think i picked up a holographic green thing but nothing happened
I think they only effect your contract souls (if they effected the gargoyle leveling up I didn't notice).
Does anyone know if the souls that chase you after kills are easy to disable at all? They work in competitive mode, and I feel like this could work against cloaked spies.
Exaflamer is our engi this week again. Good writeup, I'm looking forward to seeing the results of this steel week.
