TristanIgnoring the fact that 6s evolved from a ruleset similar to the one above, it seems like you'd see more variation in play style with 1 of each class. One reason for this is that everyone would always run 2 demos with the other rule set.

All you would see is more turtling caused by lack of combat lasses and almost guaranteed constant presence of heavy.
Imaging trying to push off last without switching back to main classes....Except the other team is also running turtle classes...

would separate us even more from pubs
off classing to sniper and spy would be borderline retarded

Stewwhy is everybody so tied down to having 6 players on a team? 9 players on a team with each player locked into a single unique class seems optimal, especially to start for pubs to get used to competition.

There is many reasons this didn't become the main format to begin with. Not the least of which is highlander being a slow boring shitfest.

I do however agree 6v6 leaves no room for offclasses and thus alienates us from the pub community. 7v7 would keep the 6v6 pace mostly intact while leaving room for the oddballs. It would also still be a hell of allot easier then getting a highlander team to lan.

ArxHonestly, it would be MAD at first (probably in a bad way), but after a while, a new, diverse meta game would start to appear, but there would still be room for some crazy strategies and set plays that could keep the game fresh.

Salamancer 6v6, and even most forms of highlander, are currently too different from regular pub play

And Valve has only itself to blame for that. If they didn't flat-out encourage bad play for the last 4 years with there poorly balanced unlocks, horribly balanced maps, and generally just making a mess of the game this would not be the case.

Honestly there would be little difference in the base meta of pubs and hl/6s if the players where actually decent. The differences in playstyle arise when people know basic class mechanics.

Instead of trying to make comp more like your bastardized excuse of a game maybe you should instead try to make pubs more like comp.

WaldoShade has to have the best grasp of fundamentals/mechanics, but Pyyour is a better team leader/strategist IMO.

I would say mirelin and knoxx are both better mechanically but shade has better positioning.

I use the 8350, no issues with tf2 at all. Always 240+fps with a 7850

What FPS config do you use? I have the 8350 as well, but with my GTX 680, my average FPS in scrims/pubs is around ~170ish with dx9frames. Which is nice, but I was expecting I'd be able to get better performance than that.

Fermi architecture hates tf2 for some reason.
