I pretty much watched the entire stream minus the grand finals since I had to sleep and I noticed that the view numbers throughout the whole thing were about 2.5-2.9k, rarely actually breaking 3k. This is quite a dip from other international lans, i55 peaked at almost 9k, i58 still had about 5-6k.
I think it would be good to analyze why Rewind had half the viewers compared to i58.
Was it because of the time zones?
Was it because it was streamed on ESA's and not TFTV's twitch?
Lack of advertisement for the LAN? Insomina is a well known tf2 lan so the more casual audience still knows that it happens every summer. Maybe word about Rewind wasn't spread that much outside of the more dedicated 6s community.
Or was it simply a case of people losing interest in watching 6s or tf2 in general?
As I said, I think it's good to identify the problem because some amazing people invest their blood sweat and tears into events like this one and it's a shame when only a couple thousand people actually tune in.
