Overwatch could definitely kill tf2 if all the good players leave for it (which seems to be happening in EU I guess)

That's not killing tf2 though. That's killing the current competitive format of tf2, about which only a tiny percentage of the tf2 players care about. Dont worry, those 24/7 dustbowl, 2fort and instant respawn orange servers aint going anywhere.

SideshowI think if we learned anything from i55 it's that sniping should not be relied on for more than a small portion of your game.

Also the soldier combo of mike and tek I'm not keen on. I mean it's not even a team but theoretically, I can think of better match-ups. I guess I just have le boeuf with the frenchies come at me baguetteland. I can think of better rosters that would be available right now. Can't think of better rosters without using any of those guys though.

well maybe zebbo, kaidus, kaptain, rising, stark, hafficool might come close...

BUICK2 medics used to be standard procedure for 8v8 in 2009~2010. Same limits as 6s currently otherwise.

I just enjoyed it thoroughly because in comp 8v8 one medic usually stuck with the heavy (at the time my IRL roomate, man I miss that) and the other medic played with more of the soldier/demo/flank.

One on kritz and one on uber was dope.

Good for 6v6? No. Some of the best memories I've ever had playing competitive TF2 matches.. yes, just imagine being the best heavy/medic combo in the fucking league with the dude who lives in the room next to you. Also back then comp 8v8 CTF was HUGE. You hear about medic/heavy synergy/fan-fiction but I lived it. Sorry to jack the thread lol.

I remember watching some old YouTube video I think it was from i32 or something. 8v8 ctf 2fort and they were all playing on crt monitors. I remember the sollies rocket jumping straight up without strafing at all. It looked pretty fun regardless

SimSentinel- What if 3 scouts were allowed? Would teams run them on most maps? Would the roamer get cut and have a more versatile guboats pocket instead?
It wouldn't make sense to have any sort of roaming soldier because they would always just get shredded.

I haven't really seen a thread like this, so why not start one myself.

Basically we can discuss dumb changes to the 6s rules, it should be fun. I'll start off:

- What if 2 medics were allowed per team? Which class would get cut for the second medic?

- What if 3 scouts were allowed? Would teams run them on most maps? Would the roamer get cut and have a more versatile guboats pocket instead?

Also people here don't see tf2 as a "job" cause there is literally no incentive to do so rather than the yearly lan. In NA they have ESEA ones, which allow them to adapt better to lan environment (and the incentive to pratice to play in a lan is bigger as well).

Dont get me wrong, I wasn't trying to fire shots at the eu players, you fgts are great. All I said was that NA is a bit ahead on the whole "esports or streaming as a legit career" thing so of course they'll have more dedicated players.

Kanecoyou could say he was a bit rusty, I think after he got into uni this year his focus shifted more to his studies than tf2 but I can see him getting back on form again.

Also he already joined a team http://etf2l.org/teams/25225/ with ipz, retshock, etc...

Thats the thing about eu though. People here dont see tf2 as a "job". NA has b4nny who's the only truly professional tf2 player, as in his profession is literally tf2. So of course he'll dedicate more time than any other player that sees tf2 as a mere hobby and force his team to practice on a tighter schedule thereby outperforming other "amateur" tf2 teams.
