Done. Good questions to ask (I think), but you can't have an 'Other (please specify)' option and not expect me to write paragraphs ;)

DAS44Would you happen to be playing on a laptop? Last I checked (when I was experiencing the same problem) OBS' game capture would only output a black screen on them.
Have you tried using window capture?
Nope, playing on a desktop with 1 graphics card installed.
wareyamake sure the source is fit to the scene
Tried this but screen remains black and games still freeze/crash.
I've been playing in windowed mode the whole time. When I had it working I didn't have it as a global source either. I probably should've mentioned this but when I tab back into the game the menu is frozen in the state it was when I tabbed out, but when I hover over things with my cursor or click things I still hear sounds but nothing changes on the menu. If I stream before launching the game, it crashes on the main menu as well.
I recently got upgraded from Australia tier internet so now I can stream. Yay. I was doing a couple of tests a few days ago and eventually got everything working how I wanted it. I play games at 1080p and window capture only captures a quarter of the screen if you stream at 720p (my PC can't handle 1080p without massive stutter) so I was using game capture. I went to have dinner and when I came back, game capture went from capturing the whole screen to just a black screen. I've reinstalled, rolled back to earlier versions and made new scenes and sources multiple times, all to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have no clue what could have changed with my settings as I was eating dinner away from my computer and my cat doesn't know how to operate a computer so either my house is haunted or my computer is sentient and wants to screw with me or something. pls help ;(
Cheers.
ShankyNot sure how everyone else feels about this, but could anyone who thinks they're going to go huge please record demos and name them(?) to avoid the situation at i52. I reckon a bunch of frag videos starting with: "Frags by players from The GXL Invitation >>>SPONSORED BY CORSAIR GAMING<<<" might attract future sponsors possibly maybe. iunno I'm just throwing ideas out there because I want demos to edit and more sponsors so comp TF2 can still be a thing.
Edit: STVs also.
Hope I'm not nagging too much, but I guess this is a bit of a follow up. These demos aren't necessarily for me (although I'll certainly be playing around with them) as they are for any movie maker looking for xX._:sik_frags:_.Xx to use and for anyone wanting to learn. So yeah, post 'em!
PS: Please don't make us watch an entire 80000 tick demo to find your frag, name them intelligently! (eg: name_tick_descriptionOfFrag.dem or something)
Cheers.

AoshimaShankySniper is a Kiwi.
Suck it Australia.
Well, that does explain why he doesn't have a massive moustache and amazing chest hair, like all of us Australians have.
Holy fuck I just got shit on.
Quertlol those particles....seems a bit unnecessary. although it does make the game look good, it's most definitely gonna interfere in the gameplay.
Devs have confirmed a "high contrast mode" that disables pretty much all effects that are just for looks such as lighting and (presumably) particles. Equivalent to high picmip values in Quake apparently.
As far as I know the sticky trail particle is separate from the explosion particle. You should be able to put just the explosion particle into your tf/custom folder. Perhaps rename it to some gibberish when you're not recording or remove it from your custom folder when playing normally.
You'll need GCF Scape to extract the individual particles.
Go to the location of your Lawena installation > lawena (the folder) > custom > pldx_particles. Open this with GCF Scape and copy the [name of custom explosion file].pcf
Put this in your tf > custom folder and you should be good to go on all sv_pure 0 servers.

Shit frag, shit editing. I was trying to push Lightworks and learn some new stuff about it. Also practice demo smooths. YouTube dropped a frame at around 14 seconds where it changes from first person to the smooth.
I don't know how well this would work for you, but I've found that having good mates at school is always a pretty good way to get excited. It's neat to just talk shit with someone every now and again. Other than that, try and think of something to do after school. I really enjoy listening to music and when I find a new song I really like I can't wait to get home to listen to it, but this most likely won't work for you.
In terms of the degree, you need to think about what's more important for you. Would you like to earn more money or do something you like? You said you want to captivate your imagination, so you could do something in art/music/whatever that might not pay very well (it should probably be able to support you unless you want to be a homeless person (who knows, you might)) but you will still be happy doing.
That's my two cents at least, hope everything works out.
